Sana Hastakala is a not profit sharing, non Governmental and Fair Trade organization. It was established in 1989 with the objective to meet the marketing requirements of handicraft producers who are mainly women and operating on a very small scale, usually from their homes. Earning from sales are used for producers development programs, staff welfare and organizational strengthening. At present Sana Hastakala is providing marketing services to more than 80 producer groups from different parts of Nepal including individuals, groups, clubs, organizations, and firms and about 1000 crafts person are directly or indirectly benefited. The major craft items include Hand made paper products, Pashmina (cashmere) shawls, stoles and scarves, Filigree ornaments, Allo (Nettle) Natural fiber products, Handloom cotton products including Dhaka, Mithila paintings, ceramics, wood carvings, woolen productsincluding felt, metal crafts, gift items, home decoration and accessories. Sana Hastakala is a member of Fair Trade Group Nepal(FTGN), International Fair Trade Assoiciation(IFAT), FHAN and ECON.
