A well-established diagnostic center in Kathmandu is seeking a dedicated and skilled Lab Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting laboratory operations, ensuring accurate sample collection, safe handling, and efficient patient service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect blood and biological samples from patients with care and professionalism
• Accurately label specimens with patient details and collection dates
• Follow strict patient identification protocols, especially during hospital visits
• Transport collected samples safely to the laboratory for analysis
• Operate centrifuge and other lab equipment as per regulations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and infection-free work environment
• Provide pre- and post-test counseling for sensitive tests (e.g., HIV)
• Manage front-desk duties including patient registration, report delivery, and cash handling
• Record and safeguard patient information in compliance with data privacy standards
• Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and infection control guidelines

Requirements:

• Diploma or Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
• Prior experience as a Lab Assistant or Phlebotomist (1–2 years preferred)
• Strong knowledge of lab safety and infection control protocols
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient-friendly attitude
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Proficient in basic computer use and record-keeping
• Willingness to perform home sample collections and rotational shifts
