Peace Nepal was registered in 2055 named Rural Poverty Alleviation Centre and made revision in name as Poverty Alleviation Centre as per the District Administration Office decision on 2070/05/20. The name of organization was further revised in 2077/06/20 and named Peace Nepal in accordance with District Administration Office decision.

The organization was established with an objective to improve socio- economic status of the underprivileged and disadvantaged community women, adolescent girls, children and youth. Over the time the work of organization has grown to include a focus on excess to health, education basic rights, environment and community sanitation.

Peace Nepal has been implementing the Room to Read–funded Improving Primary School Children's Literacy and Girls Education and Gender Equality in School Education in 10 districts of Nepal in selected schools of Kapilvastu district. The primary goals of these projects are:

  1. to help children become independent and proficient readers, and
  2. to ensure girls complete secondary education and develop the confidence and ability to make informed life decisions.

To achieve these goals, Peace Nepal works closely with children, teachers, SMCs, PTAs, parents, local governments, and other key stakeholders. Peace Nepal is now seeking qualified and dynamic full-time staff for the following positions:

1. Position: Program Officer for Literacy Program- 1 Position

Report to: Program Manager (PM)

Overview of Positions: Officer, Literacy Program serves as the leading technical expert in developing literacy skills and promoting reading skills and habits. This position entails frequent travel to project schools/areas and provide technical support to Literacy Facilitator (LF), regular communication with Program Manager/Coordinator for day to day operational support, Literacy Officer of RtR Field Office for technical support, as well as coordination and collaboration with local government entities.

2. Position: Program Officer for Girls Education Program - 3 Positions

Report to: Program Manager (PM)

Overview of Positions: Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager the Officer, Girls’ Education Program (GEPO) will be responsible for overseeing all the technical aspects of the Girls’ Education Program (GEP) including support on planning and implementing the program. This position requires knowledge and skills in girls’ education, gender equality and response, project management, training, and facilitation, monitoring and evaluation, life skills, mentoring, child protection, networking with government at the local level and stakeholders, budgeting, and supervising. The GEPO will supervise the Social Mobilizers, Girls’ Education Program (SM) and work in close coordination with the Program Coordinator, and GEPO from Room to Read (RtR) for any assistance.

3. Position: Admin Finance Associate- 1 Position

Report to: Administration and Finance officer (AFO)

Overview of Positions: Administration and Finance Associate is responsible for carrying Admin and Finance related works under the direct supervision of Administration and Finance officer. S/he will be responsible for logistics support; procurement of program materials and materials related to database management. This position is required to travel frequently to project sites and manage the bill payment and logistic support to the staff. This position requires skills in negotiating, planning and managing procurement and distribution, riding motorcycles etc.

4. Position: Social Mobilizer for Girls Education Program (Only Girls)- Few positions

Report to: Program officer

Position overview: The Social Mobilizer, Girls’ Education Program (SM) will be responsible for overseeing Girls’ Education Program Participants (GEPP), program schools, parents, local-level government, and other relevant stakeholders. This position supports GEPP to continue school and learn life skills through Life Skills (LS) and Group Mentoring sessions. SM also ensures that GEPP stays in school longer by regularly tracking GEPP records to identify and mitigate risks that can result in dropouts. This position will report to the Officer/Associate, Girls’ Education Program (GEPA) in their respective clusters. This is a field-based position working in GEP clusters with visits to Partner NGO offices as and when required
