Humanitarian and DRM Lead
Oxfam is an international confederation of 22 organizations working together with partners and local communities in 77 countries around the world to end the injustice of poverty.
Oxfam in Nepal
Oxfam is a global movement dedicated to ending the injustice of poverty by confronting some of the world’s most pressing and complex challenges. We partner with local organisations, communities and institutions to create practical, innovative solutions that help people thrive. Whether building resilient livelihoods, amplifying the voices of the marginalized, or responding to crises, we stand alongside those most affected by inequality—especially women, girls, youth and vulnerable groups.
In Nepal, Oxfam has been a committed ally since the early 1980s, driving transformative change through a triple mandate – development, influencing, and humanitarian response initiatives, that tackle poverty and social exclusion. We work alongside communities to help women, girls, and youth build confidence, shape decisions that affect their lives, and contribute to more inclusive and accountable leadership.
Through strong partnerships with civil society, local leaders, and government institutions, we’ve helped build resilient livelihoods, expand access to essential services, promote and strengthen local leadership and communities’ ability to withstand climate shocks and disasters.
Our vision for Nepal is a just society free from poverty, where everyone lives with dignity, exercises their rights, and participates fully as active citizens. To realize this vision, Oxfam focuses on interconnected priorities:
