Position Title: Education Coordinator and Administrative Head

Maiti Nepal invites applications from qualified, committed, and compassionate professionals for the position of Education Coordinator to strengthen and enhance the educational structure of Teresa Academy, the organization’s educational institution dedicated to empowering children and survivors through quality education, protection, and holistic development.

The Coordinator will serve as the key liaison between Maiti Nepal’s central office and Teresa Academy, ensuring effective academic leadership, institutional management, compliance, and child safeguarding standards. The role requires strong coordination skills, educational leadership, and a deep commitment to child rights, protection, and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the delivery of quality education aligned with the school’s academic standards and child-centered approach.
  • Develop and implement routine academic plans in close collaboration with the Principal.
  • Identify slow learners and students requiring additional academic support, and design targeted intervention plans to address their needs.
  • Oversee and monitor overall academic performance and student progress through regular assessments and reviews.
  • Ensure a safe, child-friendly, inclusive, and supportive teaching-learning environment aligned with child protection standards.
  • Supervise teaching and non-teaching staff, ensuring discipline, safeguarding compliance, and protection policies are strictly implemented.
  • Organize extra classes, remedial support, tuition assistance, and life skills education sessions to address learning gaps and promote resilience.
  • Coordinate scholarship and sponsorship programs, including documentation, follow-ups, and reporting.
  • Prepare comprehensive education-related reports, records, and institutional documentation.
  • Identify academic gaps and design strategic improvement plans to enhance educational outcomes.
  • Maintain regular coordination with parents/guardians and relevant stakeholders to support students’ academic and psychosocial growth.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and introduce innovative, child-centered education programs and activities.
  • Assess teachers’ professional development needs and recommend relevant training for academic excellence.
  • Ensure overall operational and administrative management of the school.
  • Ensure compliance with national education laws, government regulations, and child protection policies.
  • Maintain regular coordination with the Ministry of Education and other concerned authorities for approvals, reporting, and institutional requirementsOversee administrative functions and store management, ensuring proper record-keeping, inventory control, transparency, and efficient utilization of resources.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a coordination or leadership role in an English-medium school.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, documentation, and reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with vulnerable children and survivors with sensitivity, empathy, and professionalism.

Preference will be given to female candidates, particularly those with a background in law and sound knowledge of:

  • Legal compliance and case management
  • Issues related to trafficking and prostitution
  • National laws and international conventions related to child rights and gender-based violence
