Maiti Nepal, like any other Non-Government Organization (NGO) in Nepal, operates through a general agreement with Social Welfare Council, Government of Nepal that allows it to implement programs to prevent human trafficking by reaching out to the community, particularly children and women, by raising the awareness level of communities and extending life skills so that children and women are not trafficked into different forms of abuse including exploitation.

Position: Project Focal Person – Maiti Nepal Head Office

Duty Station: Halfway Home (Kathmandu Valley)

Position Summary:

The Project Focal Person will manage and coordinate the Halfway Home program, ensuring proper rehabilitation, psychosocial support, engage further investigation and rescue of minors from entertainment sector, coordination with police and reintegration planning for survivors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day management of the Halfway Home.
  • Make regular investigation and rescue plan.
  • Reach out to police officers, AHTB and local level authorities for investigation and rescue from entertainment sector.
  • Ensure timely referral and follow-up of cases for legal support and reintegration.
  • Develop individualized rehabilitation and reintegration plans.
  • Coordinate psychosocial counseling, skill development, and livelihood training.
  • Supervise staff and maintain discipline and protection standards.
  • Maintain case files and documentation.
  • Coordinate with government agencies, police, and legal teams when required.
  • Prepare periodic narrative and financial reports.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Gender Studies, Law, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience working with trafficking survivors or vulnerable women.
  • Strong leadership and case management skills.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding policies.
