Maiti Nepal, like any other Non-Government Organization (NGO) in Nepal, operates through a general agreement with Social Welfare Council, Government of Nepal that allows it to implement programs to prevent human trafficking by reaching out to the community, particularly children and women, by raising the awareness level of communities and extending life skills so that children and women are not trafficked into different forms of abuse including exploitation.

Position: Communication Officer

About Maiti Nepal:

Maiti Nepal is a non-profit organization committed to combating human trafficking, protecting survivors, and promoting their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

Position Summary:

The Communication Officer will be responsible for managing internal and external communication, media relations, digital platforms, publications, and documentation to enhance the organization’s visibility and advocacy efforts prepare periodic reports, newsletter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement communication strategies and annual communication plans.
  • Prepare Presentation on various topic. 
  • Coordinate with various department of central office and field office for obtaining data and information. 
  • Coordinate with visitors, make presentations, provide information's and keep records. 
  • Manage website, social media platforms, and digital content.
  • Prepare newsletters, press releases, success stories, and annual reports.
  • Coordinate with media houses and ensure effective coverage of programs and events.
  • Develop IEC materials, brochures, and advocacy materials.
  • Support documentation of case studies and donor reports.
  • Ensure branding and visibility guidelines are followed.
  • Conduct outreach and awareness raising activity. 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mass Communication, Media Studies, Journalism, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in communication and media management.
  • Excellent writing skills in English and Nepali.
  • Strong photography, videography, and editing skills preferred.
  • Experience working in NGOs/INGOs is an asset.
