Background of Organization:

The Society for Integrated Allied Nepal (SIAN) is a national NGO that was established in 2004 with the aim of promoting inclusive development, democracy, and human resource development by addressing health and nutrition, WASH, education, and access to opportunities for local communities. SIAN is an autonomous, non- political, and non-profit organization run by representatives of civil society and development professionals who actively work in rural development, health and nutrition, WASH, GEDSI, Climate change, Social Inclusion, education, human rights, inclusive democracy, child rights, livelihood, gender, and environmental issues. SIAN is a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting quality education, livelihood, health, good governance, and well-being of poor and marginalized Nepalese people. Through its focus on children, women, marginalized, and rural communities, SIAN sets holistic development goals to create a transformed and interdependent society. The organization envisions a new Nepal achieved through positive transformation of the socio-economic aspects of society and individuals, through capacity enhancement and optimal utilization of local resources. Since its inception, SIAN has been working towards providing quality education to Nepalese children, creating safe environments that uphold their dignity, respect, food security, income generation, health, and security, regardless of their gender, ethnicity, or religion. SIAN is s currently looking for the application from qualified candidates for the following position:

1. Position: Admin and Finance Intern

Location: Kathmandu

Required No.: 1

Position Description:

Intern will support the management of the SIAN for formulation and implementation of programs in different themes. This internship provides the selected candidate with exposure to the working environment in social sector and a better understanding of management at the program and operation level.

Scope of Work:

The intern will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Documentation & Systematic Filling of the Financial Records
  • Facilitate staff to open/close bank/ CIT accounts
  • Tax Management
  • Support the team in organizing meetings, workshops, and events, including logistics and documentation.
  • Assist in inventory management, including tracking office supplies and stationery.
  • Support the finance team in preparing vouchers, invoices, and receipts.
  • Ensure proper filing and safekeeping of financial documents and receipts.
  • Help ensure that all financial and administrative activities comply with the organization policies and relevant regulations.
  • Support preparing proper documentation.
  • Support in maintaining proper documentation of project expenditures and budget utilization.
  • Participate in relevant training and workshops to enhance administrative and financial skills.
  • Support team members with tasks related to accounting software and data management.
  • Support program team in procurement related task, documentation and so on.

Supervisor: The intern will work under the supervision of the Admin and Finance Manager

Estimated Duration of Contract: Initially 3 months (Possibility to extension upon satisfactory performance) (to commence as soon as possible)

Official Travel Involved, if any: Base location Kathmandu with possible field visits to SIAN’s working districts. 

Organization will provide benefit as per its Human Resource Policy.

Required Minimum Qualification: 

  • At least 18 years old and enrolled in Final year or BBA/BBS graduate.
  • Excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Passion in research and proposal writing, including database management, administrative tasks etc. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and be flexible in daily workings.
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment.
  • Knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

2. Media, Communication and IT Intern:

Location: Kathmandu

Required No: 1

Position Description:

Intern will support the management of the SIAN for formulation and implementation of programs in different themes. This internship provides the selected candidate with exposure to the working environment in social sector and a better understanding of use of social media, Communication, knowledge Management and engage with current development in Information Technology.

Scope of Work:

The intern will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Creating and scheduling engaging content, monitoring social media channels, and responding to comments and inquiries.
  • Writing blog posts, articles, press releases, and other forms of written content.
  • Assisting with website maintenance, updates, and content management systems (CMS).
  • Providing basic IT support, troubleshooting technical issues, and assisting with software updates.
  • Gathering and analyzing data to track website traffic, social media engagement, and other relevant metrics.
  • Assisting with media outreach, building relationships with journalists, and pitching stories.
  • Contribute to the preparation of knowledge and communication products, materials for advocacy and outreach, related to area of work.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support in the planning and organization of meetings, events, workshops, and conferences in coordination with other staff.
  • Developing strong communication skills through writing, presentation, and interpersonal interactions.

Supervisor: The intern will work under the supervision of the Executive Director

  • At least 18 years old and completed Bachelor in Information Technology (BIT/BSc IT)
  • Excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Passion in research and proposal writing, including database management etc. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and be flexible in daily workings.
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment.
  • Have communication skills like Verbal and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, language, content development and public relations
  • Media Skills needed: Social Media Management, Photo and Videography
  • Basic IT skills like; Website Maintenance, Data Management, Tech Troubleshooting, handle multimedia tools etc.
