The target beneficiaries are women, indigenous people, children, marginal farmer, daily wage laborer and needy people. SAHARA-Nepal directly works with them and strives to strengthen their capacity to reduce socio-economic, cultural and political vulnerabilities. Sahara Nepal with the technical support of Habitat for Humanity Nepal and with the fund support of Jersey Overseas (JOA) is implementing a project— ‘HOMES’ Nepal: Housing Opportunities and Microfinance Empowerment Solutions. The prime objective of this project isimproving financial security, housing adequacy, and economic prosperity for low-income families, particularly women, persons with disabilities, and marginalized groups. The project will address critical challenges faced by low-income families—including inadequate housing, financial exclusion, and climate vulnerabilities—by enhancing access to appropriate and affordable financial products such as housing microfinance (HMF) loans, home green energy (HGE) loans, and housing microinsurance (HMI). The project will be implemented in five districts across east Nepal: Sunsari and Udayapur in Koshi Province, and Siraha, Saptari, and Dhanusha in Madhesh province.

Sahara Nepal is looking for experienced and qualified candidates for the following positions for HOMES Nepal project.

1. Position: Youth & Stakeholder Engagement Officer 

Organization: Sahara Nepal

Location: Project Office, Itahari with (70%) field travel to project areas.

Duration: 1 year, with possibility of extension based on performance

Position Overview

We are seeking an energetic, visionary, and people-centered professional to join our team as a Youth Engagement & Stakeholder Engagement Officer. In this role, you will mobilize youth participation, establish and maintain robust networks with a diverse group of stakeholders, and spearhead the formation and expansion of the 3 Zero Clubs. These clubs will serve as community platforms where youth receive hands-on training in financial literacy and fundamental entrepreneurship, enabling them to become agents of change across Nepal.

Key Responsibilities

Youth Mobilization & Engagement:

  • Formation of 3 Zero Clubs: Lead the creation, support, and networking of 3 Zero Clubs that drive initiatives toward zero poverty, environmental sustainability, and unemployment reduction.
  • Implement dynamic programs that integrate financial literacy and basic entrepreneurship training for youth.
  • Organize awareness campaigns, workshops, and community forums to encourage active youth participation and cultivate leadership skills.
  • Promotion of digital literacy through trainings to 3 zero club members and community women in particular.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Identify, connect, and nurture strategic partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders including government bodies, community leaders, microfinance institutions, cooperatives, donors, and civil society organizations.
  • Organize regular meeting with 3 Zero and youth clubs.
  • Leverage feedback from these partnerships to continuously refine program strategies and training modules, ensuring relevance and sustainability.
  • Coordination and Collaboration: 
  • Collaborate with field teams to plan, implement, and monitor youth-led initiatives and club activities.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and timely reporting of engagement activities, training outcomes, and the progress of the 3 Zero Clubs.
  • Assist in resource mobilization efforts and support proposal development for new youth and community engagement projects.

Communication:

  • Serve as an ambassador for youth empowerment and engagement initiatives, conveying program narratives and success stories to a broad audience.
  • Utilize digital media and social networking platforms to amplify the messages of the 3 Zero Clubs and raise awareness about the benefits of financial literacy and entrepreneurship training.

Candidate Profile

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Communication, Business Administration, or a related field (a Master’s degree is an advantage).

Experience:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in youth or community development, stakeholder engagement, or related roles in the NGO sector.
  • Prior involvement in training, capacity building, or entrepreneurial initiatives is highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills in both English and Nepali.
  • Proven ability to design and implement youth-focused innovative engagement programs.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment.

2. Position: MEAL Officer

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented MEAL Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and enhancing our MEAL frameworks to ensure transparent reporting, data-driven decision making, and continuous program improvement. You will work closely with field teams and partner microfinance institutions, to monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and generate actionable insights that support project objective.

Key Responsibilities

MEAL Framework Development & Implementation:

  • Design and refine comprehensive MEAL plans for projects and ensure alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.
  • Establish monitoring tools and methodologies that capture quality data and facilitate performance tracking.

Data Collection, Analysis & Reporting:

  • Coordinate and conduct robust field data collection, including surveys, focus group discussions, and key informant interviews.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to generate regular progress reports and insights for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain meticulous records, ensuring data integrity and timely dissemination of findings.

Capacity Building & Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Collaborate with field teams to build their capacity on data collection tools and MEAL concepts.
  • Engage with key stakeholders—government bodies, microfinance institutions,and community partners—to guide accountability practices and promote learning initiatives.

Learning & Improvement:

  • Facilitate reflective sessions and learning workshops to ensure program adaptations based on the evaluative feedback.

Candidate Profile

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2–3 years in monitoring and evaluation, preferably within an NGO or development context.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing MEAL systems and tools.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Nepali.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., MS Excel, SPSS, or similar) and familiarity with digital data collection tools.

3. Position: District Officer

Location: Project districts; Udapypur, Siraha and Dhanusa

Number of positions:

Duration: 1 year, with possibility of extension based on performance

Position Overview

The District Officer will be entirely entrusted to provide motivational, facilitating and supportive services to MFI members via access to finance and financial inclusion related activities specifically housing and green energy financing. In addition, he/she will oversee financial literacy trainings at filed and support training facilitators, logistic management and other work as per need.  He/she will be put in the field and will play a supportive role in building the credibility and reliability of the project. He/she will closely work with the MEAL officer and under the overall guidance of the Project Manager in delivering services. Specifically,District officer will carry out the following set of activities:

  • Support in selection of community facilitator, for financial literacy training and capacity development.
  • Facilitate the field level activities like trainings and workshop wherever required in close coordination with the MFIs branch, cluster and project team.
  • Coordinate and facilitate ToTs on financial literacy, safe housing, financial products, and micro finance management and marketing strategy development. 
  • Coordinate with local government and stakeholders for Community gatherings, campaigns, rallies and dissemination of IEC materials. 
  • Support MFIs in identify potential clients and reach project target groups.
  • Coordinate with partner MFIs, other stakeholders working in financial inclusion and decent housing development for implementation of green energy loan, housing micro-finance insurance and micro housing loan. 
  • Work as a bridge between project team, MFIs and development partner.  
  • Should have minimum 90% field visit and as per requirement of the activities and will be fully field based.
  • Should have proper record keeping and documentation skills.
  • Other activities as per need based and demand of the project.

Candidate’s Profile

Educational Qualifications:

  • The candidate must possess at least PCL Level in social science or business management discipline (a Bachelor degree is preferred) 

Experience: 

  • At least 3 years of experience as Officer/supervisor in social development project or social mobilization or training facilitator. 

Skills and Competency:

  • S/he should have basic knowledge of using Microsoft Office Package with fair command of English and Nepali languages both written and spoken.
  • S/he needs to have own two-wheeler with valid driving license.

4. Position: Project Admin, Finance and Log Officer

Position Overview

The Project Admin, Finance, and Logistics Officer will serve as a central liaison within the project team, ensuring smooth and efficient implementation of all administrative, financial, and logistical activities. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, this role combines day-to-day project coordination—such as maintaining work plans, tracking deliverables, and organizing field visits—with diligent financial management, including budget monitoring, expense tracking, and timely processing of payments. The Officer will also oversee procurement and asset management, securing goods and services in line with organizational policies, and arranging travel, accommodation, and venue logistics for project staff and consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Administration:

  • Maintain and update all project documents, work plans, activity trackers, and stakeholder contact lists.
  • Coordinate logistics for project meetings, workshops, and field visits (e.g., venue bookings, agendas, minutes).
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and archiving project agreements, MOUs, and service contracts with vendors and partners.

Financial Management:

  • Prepare, monitor, and report on monthly project budgets, cash flows, and expense forecasts.
  • Process and record financial transactions—advances, reimbursements, vendor payments—in accordance with Sahara Nepal’s policies.
  • Support quarterly financial reporting and reconciliation of expenditures against budget lines.
  • Ensure timely submission of financial documentation (invoices, bills, vouchers) and maintain organized records for audits.

Procurement & Logistics:

  • Manage procurement of project-related goods and services (office supplies, equipment, training materials, etc.).
  • Obtain and evaluate quotations, negotiate prices, and process purchase orders following organizational procurement guidelines.
  • Coordinate all project logistics—transportation, accommodation, and catering—for field staff and consultants.
  • Track inventory of project assets (e.g., laptops, projectors) and conduct periodic stock checks.

Compliance & Coordination:

  • Ensure adherence to Sahara Nepal’s financial controls, procurement procedures, and asset management policies.
  • Liaise with the central Finance, Procurement, and Admin teams to resolve any budgetary or procurement issues.
  • Provide administrative support to the Project Manager, including coordinating travel arrangements, visa processing, and onboarding of consultants.
  • Contribute to donor reports and proposals by providing accurate financial and logistical data.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project administration, finance, and logistics—preferably within an NGO/INGO.
  • Practical knowledge of financial regulations, taxation (e.g., VAT, withholding tax), and donor compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience with procurement processes (RFQs, purchase orders, vendor evaluation) and logistics coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with accounting software.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication (Nepali and English) and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and stay overnight when required
