Zoological Society of London (ZSL) is an international conservation charity founded in 1826 as the world's first scientific zoological society. During its near 200 years history, it has a firm legacy of conservation, research, and animal care in over 70 countries, helping it pursue its vision of a world where wildlife thrives. ZSL's purpose is to inspire, inform and empower people so that they understand their roles in helping stop wild animals from going extinct. ZSL has been working actively in Nepal since the late 1990s and with a country office since 2014. It is seeking applications from qualified, talented and result oriented Nepalese citizens for our following positions.

1. Conservation Ecologist

The post holder will be responsible for all field-based research and monitoring activities focusing mainly on species, habitat, and ecosystem conservation and management using established methodologies with data analysis, publications, maintenance of datasets, and coordination with ZSL HQ scientists. The postholder will also be responsible for leading development of projects that are evidence-based and underpinned by conservation science.

Qualifications: The post holder should have a PhD in wildlife ecology or conservation biology and a minimum of 5 years' experience in conservation sector of Nepal. S/he should be technically proficient and qualified in the field of wildlife biology with high-quality publications.

2. Results Management Officer  

The Results Management Officer will support the development of result-based monitoring system, support in implementation of project aligning with the indicators and objectives, tracking the impacts of ongoing projects focusing on the western terai complex, create an efficient data management system along with regular evaluation and presentation of the findings with reflections and recommendations on the way forward.

Qualifications: The post holder should have a minimum of Master's degree in a relevant discipline (Environment science, environment management, forestry, or other relevant discipline); 2 years of relevant work experience accepted in lieu of degree and should have a minimum 3 years of experience with good track record in the implementation of result-based monitoring system in programmes and projects.

3. Programme Officer

The Programme Officer (PO) will be responsible to lead the implementation of projects in Banke Bardia Shukla Complex (BBSC) in coordination with local implementation partners and other key stakeholders including Department of National Parks and Wildlife Reserve (DNPWC) and local communities.

Qualifications: The post holder should have a minimum of Master's degree in a relevant discipline (Environment science/management, forestry, wildlife, natural resource management or other relevant discipline); 2 years of work experience in conservation accepted in lieu of masters’ degree and should have a minimum of 3 years of experience with good track record in the implementation of conservation programmes in the field.

4. Field Programme Officer

The Field Programme Officer (FPO) will be responsible to the effective implementation of projects in Banke Bardia Shukla Complex (BBSC) in coordination with local partners and will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring and reporting of ZSL's projects carried out in BBS complex.

Qualifications: The post holder should have a minimum of master’s degree in a relevant discipline (Environment science/management, forestry, wildlife, natural resource management or other relevant discipline) biology and should have a minimum of 2 years of work experience in conservation accepted in lieu of masters’ degree. S/he should have minimum of 2 years of experience with good track record in the implementation of conservation programmes in the field.

5. Programme Associate

The Programme Associate (PA) will be responsible to support Field/ Programme Officer (FPO/PO) in the implementation of programme and projects in Banke Bardia Shukla Complex (BBSC).

Qualifications: The post holder should have a minimum of Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Environment science/management, forestry, wildlife, natural resource management or other relevant discipline) and should have a minimum of 2 years of experience with good track record in programme and project implementation and/or management.

6. HR Manager

The HR Manager (HRM) will be responsible to oversee HR in Nepal supporting managers to recruit, retain and coach managers to enable effective people management.

Qualifications: The post holder should have a minimum of Master's degree in a relevant discipline (HR or business management or related subject area, or equivalent qualification) and should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in HR with previous recruitment experience, including interviewing skills.
