Short-Term Consultant for Infographic Designing

1. Background

Heifer International Nepal (Heifer) is dedicated to ending hunger and poverty while caring for the earth. Since its establishment in 1998, Heifer has transformed the lives of over 400,000 families through agriculture and livestock programs. By fostering Self-Help Groups and Social Entrepreneur Women’s Cooperatives, Heifer helps build resilient communities and promote sustainable livelihoods.

By empowering communities to take ownership of their progress, Heifer ensures that solutions are grounded in local knowledge, culture, and context. This approach strengthens the capacity of local leaders and organizations to identify challenges, leverage resources, and implement long-term strategies tailored to the unique needs of their communities.

Through a holistic approach, Heifer works closely with smallholder farmers, in collaboration with local governments, private sector organizations, and other partners, to enhance agricultural practices, support women-led cooperatives, and create lasting economic change. This ultimately helps lift communities out of poverty while advancing toward more inclusive and resilient agri-food systems.

As part of its ongoing initiatives to promote awareness on One Health, Climate-Smart Livestock Practices and Social Capital, Heifer plans to design visually engaging infographic.

2. Purpose of the Assignment

The purpose of this consultancy is to design a 30–35-page behavior change document that effectively communicates technical information through infographics that are easily understandable by the local rural communities. The consultant will ensure that all designs align with Heifer International’s Branding and Communication Guidelines.

3. Objectives

  • To design a 30–35-page behavior change document in infographic format in both English and Nepali.
  • To create clear, visually appealing, and informative infographics and illustrations on key thematic areas aligned with Heifer Nepal’s technical priorities.
  • To ensure all materials adhere to Heifer International’s branding, communication, and quality standards.

4. Scope of Work and Key Tasks

The consultant/company will undertake the following tasks:

  • Design infographics and layouts related to One Health, Climate-Smart Livestock Practices, Social Capital and Community Development
  • Develop visual materials that are culturally appropriate and easily understandable by the local rural communities.
  • Ensure the visual presentation aligns with Heifer International’s technical and branding standards.
  • Coordinate with Heifer’s Communications and Program teams to incorporate feedback and finalize the design.

 6. Duration of Assignment

The duration of the consultancy is 6 weeks.

7. Payment Terms

  • Payment Modality: A single payment will be made upon successful completion, submission, and approval of all deliverables by Heifer.
  • No partial payments will be made during the assignment.
  • The consultant must submit an invoice along with the approved deliverables for processing.

8. Consultant/Company Requirements

  • Proven experience in graphic design, particularly in development communication and/or educational materials.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or similar design software.
  • Experience in infographic design, layout composition, and visual storytelling.
  • Strong understanding of branding, communication, and print-ready formatting.

9. Reporting and Coordination

The consultant will report directly to the Communications and Knowledge Management Unit of Heifer. Regular coordination with the Program team will be required for content validation, review, and approvals.

10. Copyright and Ownership

All outputs and deliverables produced under this assignment shall be the exclusive property of Heifer. Heifer reserves full rights to edit, reproduce, distribute, or use the designs in any form (print, digital, or other media) without further consent from the consultant/company.

11. Application Procedure

Interested individuals/firms are requested to submit application to Procurement-NP@heifer.orgwith the title “Infographic Designing” by no later than 12th November 2025, 5 : 00 PM along with the following documents.

  • Cover letter
  • A financial proposal indicating the total cost (including all taxes)
  • Sample portfolio of similar works.
  • CV, company profile highlighting relevant experience.
  • Company registration
  • Pan/Vat registration
  • Tax clearance certificate (FY 080-81 or extension slip)

Note: VAT-registered vendors are encouraged to apply.

Heifer reserves the right to accept or reject any proposal and to annul the selection process and reject all Proposals at any time prior to contract award, without thereby incurring any liability to affected individuals.
