Title of Assignment: 3-Day Leadership Development Training
Nature of Assignment: Short-Term Consultancy Contract

1. Background
Social Entrepreneurs Women’s Alliance Nepal (SEWA Nepal) is a national-level non-profit network and apex organization of Social Entrepreneurs Women’s Cooperatives (SEWCs). SEWA Nepal is committed to enhancing the sustainable livelihoods of women, smallholder farmers, and marginalized communities through agriculture and livestock-based enterprises. The organization strengthens the institutional capacity, governance systems, financial management, entrepreneurship, and organizational development of its member cooperatives aiming to foster women entrepreneurship and socio-economic development.
Currently, SEWA Nepal represents more than 300 Social Entrepreneurs Women’s Cooperatives across 35 districts of Nepal. To further strengthen the effectiveness, sustainability, and growth of these cooperatives, SEWA Nepal recognizes the need for strong leadership and sound governance to provision services toward its members.
As part of its capacity development initiatives, SEWA Nepal intends to organize a three-day Leadership Development Training for its Board Members, Provincial Network Representatives, and Staff. The training aims to enhance leadership competencies, strengthen governance practices, improve strategic thinking and decision-making, and promote inclusive and transformational leadership in SEWA Nepal.
2. Objectives of the Training
The overall objective of the training is to strengthen the leadership, governance, and organizational and project leadership capacity of SEWA Nepal’s Board Members, Provincial Network Representatives, and Staff.
Specific Objectives
- Enhance participants’ understanding on leadership, governance, organization and project leadership, and board responsibilities.
- Strengthen skills in strategic planning, decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational leadership.
- Improve communication, team-building, networking, and conflict management skills.
- Increase understanding on succession planning, youth engagement, and future leadership development.
- Facilitate peer learning, experience sharing, and collaboration among participants.
3. Scope of Work
The consultant/facilitator shall:
- Design and develop a participatory three-day leadership development training curriculum and methodology.
- Conduct the training using interactive and adult-learning approaches.
- Facilitate group discussions, practical exercises, case studies, simulations, reflection sessions and roll play.
- Prepare and provide training materials, presentations, handouts, and reference resources.
- Conduct pre- and post-training assessments, where appropriate.
- Document key learning outcomes and recommendations.
- Submit a comprehensive training completion report.
4. Training Methodology
The training should apply participatory and experiential learning approaches, including:
- Interactive presentations
- Group discussions
- Case studies and practical exercises
- Role plays and simulations
- Experience sharing and peer learning
- Reflection and action planning sessions
5. Deliverables
The consultant shall provide:
- Inception note and detailed training plan.
- Final training agenda and session plan.
- Training materials and handouts (soft copies).
- Facilitation of the three-day training.
- Participant evaluation and feedback summary.
- Final training completion report including key outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations.
6. Duration and Participants
Duration:
Three (3) training days.
Participants:
Board Members, Provincial Network Representatives, and Staff of SEWA Nepal and Heifer Nepal.
The exact number and composition of participants will be communicated by SEWA Nepal before the training. Estimated (25-30).
7. Qualifications and Experience of the Consultant
Interested consultants should possess:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Management, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Organizational Development, Leadership, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in leadership development, governance, organizational and project leadership, and capacity-building training.
- Proven experience facilitating training for cooperatives, NGOs, INGOs, networks, or community-based organizations.
- Strong facilitation, communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.
- Experience working with women-led organizations and cooperative networks will be an added advantage.
8. Proposal Submission Requirements
Interested consultants are requested to submit a technical and Financial proposal within seven (7) days from the date of publication of this ToR to:

The proposal should include:
- Vendor Listing Application Form (LINK).
- Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Copy of Citizenship Certificate.
- Academic Certificates and Credentials.
- PAN/VAT Registration Certificate.
- For firms/organizations: Registration Certificate, Tax Clearance Certificate, and other relevant legal documents.
- Technical proposal outlining training approach, methodology, work plan, and timeline.
- Financial proposal with a detailed cost breakdown.
9. Selection Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on:
- Relevant qualifications and experience.
- Quality and suitability of the proposed methodology.
- Understanding of the assignment.
- Previous experience with similar assignments.
- Cost-effectiveness of the financial proposal.
10. Payment Terms
Payment will be made as per the agreed contract upon successful completion of the assignment and submission and approval of all agreed deliverables.
Applicable taxes will be deducted at source as per the prevailing laws of Nepal.
11. Work Plan and Coordination
The selected consultant shall submit a detailed work plan and training schedule before commencement of the assignment. The final schedule will be jointly agreed upon by SEWA Nepal and the consultant.
12. Confidentiality
All documents, information, and materials obtained during the assignment shall remain confidential and shall not be shared with any third party without prior written approval from SEWA Nepal.
13. Penalty and Contract Termination
SEWA Nepal reserves the right to withhold payment, request revisions, or terminate the contract if the consultant fails to deliver the agreed outputs or if the quality of the assignment does not meet the expected standards.
Any changes to the agreed timeline must be approved by both parties and justified by unforeseen circumstances.

16. Additional Information
