Safety and Security Coordinator

Duration: Fixed term contract until March 2018
Location: Kathmandu
JOB ROLE: The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that country safety and security management plan (SMP, CPs and SOPs) is updated, systems and ways of working being put in place and implemented, monitored, reviewed and improved; consistently with Oxfam policies, standards and requirements.
S/he will require undertaking an ongoing analysis of the context and developments in relation to safety and security, working with Field Safety Focal points and Programme Managers / Coordinators. S/he will be responsible for providing crisis management support to senior management team and also require supporting the Country Management Team and other senior staff to mitigate risks and if/when needed to manage safety and security incidents.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring safety and security awareness among the staff with initial induction and learning and development opportunities, including training delivery. S/he also require coordination with internal and external stake holders and managing staff.
DESIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: Bachelor's Degree in relevant field with additional courses related to safety and security with practical experience in conducting safety / security assessment, planning and implementation of procedures. S/he should be able to conduct security drill independently.
