1. Job Description Project Coordinator Enterprise Development

Fair Trade Group Nepal (FTG Nepal) is a Consortium of Fair-Trading Organizations in Nepal. The Organization seeks to promote the socio-economic advancement of underprivileged and marginalized producers across the country. To achieve this, FTG Nepal collaborates with member organizations and partners to strengthen fair trade practices, promote entrepreneurship, and build sustainable livelihoods.

FTG Nepal is seeking to recruit a qualified and motivated individual for the following position under the SUSTAIN Project Food and Nutrition Security and Resilient Livelihoods with Focus on Earthquake Affected Families through Civil Society Strengthening, supported by Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and implemented in partnership with Rural Reconstruction Nepal (RRN) and MIC Nepal.

Under this project, FTG Nepal is responsible for promoting youth and women entrepreneurship by equipping 300 young people and women with the skills and resources to establish and manage sustainable income-generating projects (green enterprises) and access business support.

Position: Project Coordinator Enterprise Development

Duty Location: Jajarkot and West Rukum

Contract Type: Full time

Duration: Initial 1 year with 3 months’ probation period (renewable based on the performance)

Reporting to: Executive Director / Senior Manager

Summary of Position:

The Project Coordinator Enterprise Development will lead and coordinate the implementation of enterprise development and entrepreneurship components of the project, focusing on strengthening sustainable green enterprises led by youth and women. The role involves overall planning, technical supervision, partnership coordination, and quality assurance to ensure the achievement of project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning, budgeting, and execution of enterprise development interventions.
  • Coordinate feasibility studies, entrepreneurship bootcamps, and vocational training programs.
  • Oversee the establishment and operation of a Business Incubation Center in partnership with local governments.
  • Provide entrepreneurial training and technical guidance on business registration, marketing, branding, and access to finance.
  • Supervise and mentor Enterprise Development Officers and field staff.
  • Prepare progress reports, success stories, and documentation as per WHH and donor requirements.
  • Liaise with partners, local authorities, and private sector actors to strengthen enterprise ecosystems.

Work Experience, Skills, and Qualifications: -

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise development, livelihood, or entrepreneurship projects.
  • Proven experience managing donor-funded programs.
  • Sound understanding of green/social enterprise models, fair trade, and GESI principles.
  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and reporting skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to remote field areas.

Summary of Position:

The Enterprise Development Officer will support field-level implementation of the project’s enterprise development and livelihood promotion components. The position involves direct facilitation, mobilization, training, and mentoring of youth and women entrepreneurs to promote sustainable and climate-friendly green enterprises in coordination with local governments and community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate identification and mobilization of youth and women entrepreneurs for enterprise promotion.
  • Support feasibility studies and the formation of self-help groups.
  • Organize and facilitate entrepreneurship bootcamps, technical, and vocational training.
  • Provide on-site business mentoring, coaching, and follow-up support.
  • Facilitate business registration, branding, and market linkages.
  • Support operation of the Business Incubation Center and coordination with local governments.
  • Maintain accurate records, data, and prepare regular field progress reports.
  • Maintain financial records of project expenditures at the field level in line with organizational policies.
  • Assist in budget tracking, expense verification, and preparation of vouchers, bank reconciliation and financial documentation.

Work Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • +2 or Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies, Development, Agriculture, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience is required for +2 graduates and 3 years for Bachelor’s degree holders in enterprise development or livelihood promotion.
  • Experience working with cooperatives, local governments, and community-based organizations.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Willingness to work in rural and remote project locations.
