SAMABIKAS Nepal is a women-led, rights-based organization working in the Achham district of Nepal. The organization’s main areas of work include gender equality, social inclusion; girls’ and women empowerment. Since its establishment in 2004, it has been working in the sector of human rights, girls and women empowerment and sexual and reproductive health rights. SAMABIKAS Nepal currently looking for candidates to fulfill the following positions:

Position title: Project Coordinator

Job location: Achham district and travel to the workings Palikas where living conditions are minimal.

Minimum Qualification and Experiences:

  • At least Bachelor's Degree with at least 1 year of extensive experience of girls and women's empowerment, sexual and reproductive health rights, and gender based violence. 
  • Good understanding of local, national and international laws related to human rights including rights for girls, women and PWDs.
  • Strong knowledge about Human Rights and Women Empowerment sector including the rights of PWDs
  • Proven experience in coordination, collaboration, reporting, community mobilization, training facilitation, and influencing advocacy initiatives.
  • Good skills in the use of social media and digital platform.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Nepali language.
  • Excellent computer skills, especially on Microsoft Office package and Internet applications
  • Willing to travel and committed to serving the communities in rural setting in remote location of  Nepal.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead overall projects and activity implementation.
  • Ensure effective and timely implementation of planned activities on time, on scope and on resources.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual work plans.
  • Facilitate/support and coordinate/organize trainings on gender equality, social inclusion, human rights, SRHR and Enterprise Development to the girls, women and marginalized community members.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the partners, CSOs, government representatives, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Build rapport and coordinate among the relevant stakeholders to promote and ensure women human rights.
  • Conduct and facilitate advocacy activities at local, district and provincial levels.
  • Maintain close contact with relevant agencies and stakeholders.
  • Manage database system for project activities and the beneficiaries.
  • Collect and compile field-based data, and prepare reports (monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual) and submit to the Executive Director, management committee and the donors.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials on gender equality, social inclusion and women empowerment.
  • Support other activities assigned by the Executive Director and organization’s focal person
