Pravasi Nepali Coordination Committee (PNCC) is a non-profit, non-political organization established in 2009 by returnee migrant workers. PNCC is dedicated to protecting and promoting the rights and well-being of Nepali migrant workers and their families. PNCC operates nationally and internationally with a wide network and in collaboration with government bodies, community organizations, and international agencies to facilitate the issues of distressed migrant workers.
PNCC invites applications from competent Nepali citizens for the following position to implement paralegal services for the Safer Migration (SaMi) Programme:
Position Title: Programme Officer (Full -time)
Location: PNCC head office, Kathmandu, Nepal

Position Summary
This position role is focuses on providing para-legal and remedial support to distressed Nepali migrant workers and their families refer by various source such as Migrant Resource Centers (MRCs), Employment Service Centers (ESCs) and others. The position involves handling cases from intake to resolution by coordinating with different stakeholder's such as PNCC's outreach coordinator, Nepal embassies, Social organization in Countries of Destination, DoFE, FEB, Consular department, Recruitment Agencies, local government and other related stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing possible para-legal remedial services support to the distressed Nepali migrant workers primarily referred by Migrant Resource Centers and SaMi national partners.
- Record the details of cases in the Case Management Information System (CMIS), ensuring documentation of evidence from victims or perpetrators (using video/audio whenever possible) and maintain records of the progress made in the cases.
- Prepare process documentation, including translations, and writing applications on behalf of migrant workers and their families, to respond to the cases effectively and promptly.
- Support families of destitute Nepali migrant workers in obtaining compensation and benefits guaranteed by the existing law of Nepal and destination countries.
- Provide regular updates to Migrant Resources Centers, migrant workers, and members of their families, and referrers. .
- Establish communication channels with the Nepalese mission through emails and phone calls to both offer and seek support for migrant workers, including the immediate referrals of the cases to the embassies and follow-up on their progress.
- Prepare and provide working progress reports to the supervisor/management of PNCC regularly.
- Make regular communication and follow-ups with respective country outreach coordinators, volunteers, embassies, and relevant stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, Migration Studies, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in rescue and repatriation/paralegal support for migrant workers and their families.
- Practical experience in case management and ability to handle MW cases smoothly,
- Strong knowledge of labor migration issues, migration services, and Nepal’s foreign employment policies.
- Competency in data entry, collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Average command of written and spoken English and Nepali.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and digital communication tools.
- Adaptability and flexibility of responding distressed migrant worker's cases whenever required
