1. Background and Context
Panchtara Yuwa Samrakshak Manch (PTYSM) Jajarkot, partnering with World Vision International Nepal (WVIN), implements the SHIELD-IPF project through the Sponsorship Operation Plan (SOP). This initiative systematically strengthens formal and informal child protection systems to create a safe, empowering environment for vulnerable children, ensuring they are cared for and can actively participate in decisions affecting them. It addresses four Child Well-Being (CWB) vulnerabilities: extreme deprivation, abusive relationships, disasters, and serious discrimination, prioritized via MVC mapping and WVIN’s Country Strategy 2022-2030.
To achieve these goals, the program focuses on three core capacity-building pillars for youth:
- Child Club Management & Leadership: Equips participants with core leadership qualities, emphasizing transparent club operations, responsible decision-making, accountability, and peer motivation to achieve shared goals.
- Effective Communication & Municipal Engagement: Develops vital interpersonal skills like active listening and empathetic communication. It trains youth to translate these skills into actionable advocacy by networking with municipal officials and civil society organizations to build concrete, local-level action plans.
- Facilitation Skills: Provides practical tools for leading inclusive group settings. Participants learn to guide neutral discussions, ask thought-provoking questions, manage time, and resolve conflicts positively, ensuring productive and impactful child club meetings.
Ultimately, this systematic approach advocates for child well-being locally and nationally, transforming vulnerable youth into capable leaders and proactive advocates for their communities' protection and development. By fostering these critical competencies, the project not only safeguards the rights of the most marginalized children but also ensures sustainable community-driven change, empowering youth as resilient change-makers.
This ToR outlines the framework for a child club management and leadership, Effective Communication & Municipal Engagement, Facilitation Skills of the child club members.
