Recovering Nepal Women (RN Women) is a National Network of women drug users and drug user-led service organizations. It was officially declared through regional and national-level consultations on 12th January 2018 among service providers and individual activists. These consultations aimed to identify issues, gaps, and ways forward to support Women Who Use Drugs (WWUDs) in Nepal. Following this process, RN Women was legally registered on 2nd January 2020 as the National Network of Women Who Use Drugs (WWUDs) in Nepal. The network is dedicated to influencing policies that improve the quality of life for WWUDs, reinstating their rights, empowering them, and mitigating the negative consequences of drug use, including blood-borne infections. RN Women strives to create an enabling environment for universal access to meaningful and gender-sensitive harm reduction services.
RN Women is incoming Sub-Recipient (SR) of United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Nepal/Global Fund for HIV/AIDS program of Women Who Inject Drugs (WWID) under GC-7 grant. Upon signing the contract with UNDP, RN Women will implement the program in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kaski and Sunsari.
Position Title: Program Coordinator
Duration: April 2025- July 2027(Initial 3 months will be probation period)
Working Station: Kumaripati, Lalitpur
Working Hours: 9 AM – 5 PM (Monday to Friday)
Job Summary:
The Program Coordinator will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing RN Women's harm reduction and advocacy programs. This role involves coordinating with stakeholders, managing program activities, ensuring timely reporting, and contributing to policy advocacy efforts.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the overall management of program planning, implementation, and execution to achieve project objectives and outcomes.
- Provide comprehensive support to project partners by facilitating training sessions and conducting regular on-site monitoring visits to ensure effective program execution.
- Ensure timely collection, verification, and analysis of project data from the HIV Care and ART Tracking System and finalize periodic reports for submission to UNDP.
- Guide M&E Officer and Drop-In Center (DIC) In-Charge in the effective implementation of project activities and monitoring frameworks.
- Conduct thorough reviews of partner reports, providing input to enhance accuracy, quality, and adherence to program goals.
- •Prepare and submit project program reports on a quarterly and annual basis, ensuring comprehensive documentation of activities, achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
- Maintain close coordination and collaboration with government and non-government stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and program impact.
- Identify and address issues affecting women who use drugs, advocating for their rights and promoting gender-sensitive harm reduction policies.
- Lead the learning component of the project by capturing, sharing, and communicating lessons learned with relevant stakeholders to enhance impact and visibility.
- Actively participate in project meetings, training sessions, and workshops.
- Serve as a liaison between communities, task groups, board members, and staff to foster collaboration and ensure project success.
Education, Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
- A minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in harm reduction, HIV/AIDS programs, and in the field of monitoring, evaluation or project management with NGOs projects.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, reporting, and team supervision.
- Strong negotiation, coordination, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Excellent analytical and report-writing skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including government bodies and grassroots organizations.
- Experience in policy advocacy and working with marginalized communities is an advantage.
