Nepal Institute of Development Studies (NIDS) is a non-governmental, non-political research institute established in 1998, with its focus on prioritized issues of Nepal’s development. Based on the research findings, NIDS implements development projects and conducts advocacy to facilitate policy formulation. The activities of NIDS target voiceless and vulnerable groups, including migrant workers and their families. The institute is registered in Kaski, with its branch office in Kathmandu, and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council, Nepal. NIDS collaborates with development partners, the private sector, and the government of Nepal, including provincial and local governments.
