Maiti Nepal, like any other Non-Government Organization (NGO) in Nepal, operates through a general agreement with Social Welfare Council, Government of Nepal that allows it to implement programs to prevent human trafficking by reaching out to the community, particularly children and women, by raising the awareness level of communities and extending life skills so that children and women are not trafficked into different forms of abuse including exploitation.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary English Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate should be committed to student-centered teaching approaches and helping students develop strong English language proficiency, literary appreciation, and global perspectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and interactive English lessons as per the national curriculum and child-centered approach for secondary level students.
- Teach and develop students’ LSRW skills (Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing) along with grammar and vocabulary effectively.
- Make English lessons interesting and relevant by connecting literature, texts, and language topics to students’ daily lives and the real world.
- Use a variety of teaching methods such as storytelling, discussions, role-play, project work, debates, presentations, and audio-visual aids to develop students’ interest and language competence.
- Develop detailed lesson plans with clear learning objectives.
- Assess students’ learning through formative and summative assessments and maintain proper records of their progress.
- Organize writing workshops, engaging classroom activities and literary events to encourage student participation.
- Identify slow learners and provide them with additional support and remedial classes.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment in line with the school’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and adhere to the organization’s Code of Conduct at all times.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, attend staff meetings, and participate in school events and professional development programs.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding students’ progress and behavior.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, English, or any related field with minimum 3-5 years of teaching experience at the secondary level. Or, Master’s Degree in Education, English, or any related field with minimum 2-3 years of teaching experience at the secondary level. (preferred Master’s Degree)
- Sound knowledge of the national curriculum for English (Secondary Level).
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English with strong expertise in LSRW skills.
- Strong communication, classroom management, and student-friendly teaching skills.
- Passion for teaching English and commitment to child rights, safeguarding, and the school’s Code of Conduct.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in project-based, activity-based, and communicative language teaching.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with audio-visual teaching tools and digital resources.
