Fastenaktion (FA) is a Swiss development organization working in Nepal since 2002. Grassroots Consulting (GC) is a Nepal based consultancy firm mandated by Fastenaktion to coordinate the Nepal Country Programme (referred to as Programme Coordination Unit PCU). Fastenaktion works mostly in Karnali to strengthen the right to food of the most marginalized and vulnerable segments of society by promoting the adoption of agroecological practices, empowering communities, CSOs and NGOs to advocate for inclusive agricultural policies.

Job Title: Admin and Finance Assistant- 1

Reports to: Finance and Admin Coordinator

Location: Kathmandu

Contract start date: March 2025

Objective:

The position holds responsibilities in supporting overall administration, finance, procurement and logistic management for smooth functioning of organization.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing vouchers and review financial documents such as vendor invoices, staff claims, travel related documents and other expense before for payment
  • Assist in preparing salary sheets, tax calculation and timely calculation and deposit of the organization and staff tax liabilities.
  • Arrange travel logistics for office staff, training participants and consultants including hotel reservation.
  • Maintain office supplies, stationery, and ensure timely replenishment.
  • Support in maintaining safely and back up of data and finance related documents.
  • Ensure timely payment of Tax,VAT and do ETDS and update on monthly basis.
  • Provide support in the process of external and statutory audits.
  • Assist in procurement of goods and services.
  • Ensure that the logistic supports are provided efficiently during meeting, trainings and field visit.
  • Ensure that proper store management is being done and office assets are adequately safeguarded.
  • Maintain and update stocks/equipment registers.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and donor regulations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in management or business studies or in relevant field
  • 1 year in finance and admin of development sector. Freshers are also encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Internet, email)
  • Ability to understand and explain policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of accounting software (Preferred FAMAS)
  • Willingness to travel to field.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
