Consortium of Organizations Working for Child Participation (Consortium-Nepal) is a leading network working in the area of Child Participation for more than 2 decades, adopting different strategies to meet its ultimate goal of promoting child participation in Nepal. Consortium-Nepal invites applications from eligible candidates for the two positions (Program Coordinator and Admin and Finance Officer) below:

Position One: Program Coordinator

Contract duration: 1stNovember 2025 31stJanuary 2026 (probation period) with possibility of extension. However, there will be an annual renewal position as per the performance review. Also note that there will be a 3-monthprobationary period starting from the date of contract signing.

Position Location: Kathmandu, (With a frequent visit to different provinces)

Key Responsibilities

Program Development and Implementation:

  • Plan and Implement project on a sustainable manner.
  • Support facilitator, consultants and trainer in intervention related to strengthening child rights and children’s rights to participation
  • Establish network with government and non-government agencies for advocacy on children’s rights to participation and fulfilling child rights
  • Build and strengthen healthy coordination, collaboration, and cooperation with government and other likeminded organizations with the means of meetings and other communication channels.
  • Design and deliver various workshops, training as demanded by the situation
  • Documentation of project activities, including best practices and challenges faced and report writing.
  • Development, documentation and organization of information such as training evaluations and other documents including training plans, communication materials and other written materials as directed.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Collect and compile good practices and documents.
  • Support in collecting relevant documents (child rights and governance) and share with the concerned partners and project team members.
  • Document the findings/learning and challenges from the monthly review and use them for the improvement of the project results.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and half-yearly progress reports including stories from the program areas.
  • Develop a monthly progress report of the organization in Nepali.
  • Compile and document photos and videos of different events.
  • Co-ordinate with the program/ project team to ensure effective implementation of the program
  • Ensure documentation of the Consortium program activities and dissemination of reports to concerned stakeholders.
  • Disseminate publications, reports, and updates of Consortium Nepal to the member organizations, the Government, and other stakeholders.
  • Frequently communicate with members, provincial committees, and Federal Committees of Consortium-Nepal.
  • Update social media pages and groups of Consortium-Nepal.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Monitor and supervision of the project.
  • Develop and implement a monitoring plan that captures key indicators relevant to attaining project objectives.
  • Make regular monitoring visits to project sites to monitor and support for quality delivery of project.
  • Generate, compile periodic regular/quarterly, six monthly and annual reports with qualitative and quantitative data and other relevant project progress information.
  • Support and supervise on data and information management and documentation and reporting of project data, lessons learned and success stories for internal and external sharing as per project/organizational need
  • Ensure maintaining an effective information management system for the project as well as for the organization, which will allow for safe storage and easy retrieval of data.
  • Assist and ensure that team is equipped with the required skills in implementing the plans and maintaining the systems.
  • Ensure that the MEAL process, systems, and procedures are upholding the safety and dignity of stakeholders.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all data presented in reports to stakeholders including donors, local government units, partners, and community beneficiaries, among others.
  • Develop and implement required templates that facilitate the collection and aggregation of information for the project.

Financial Management:

  • Ensure record of program expenses in a standard format for settlement of advances and reimbursement
  • Plan budget for impending activities and communicate with supervisor for accuracy and timely release
  • Financial management, formulation of the budget, and disbursement
  • Plan monthly and quarterly budget and expense requests and follow up for timely release
  • Lead in providing regular periodic technical and financial reporting with supporting documents.

Other Duties:

Fulfill other appropriate level responsibilities as demanded of the project.

1. Benefit Provision:

The Position shall receive a monthly salary in accordance with the organization's policy. In addition, s/he shall get an amount equal to the current pay scale of 1 month as the festival allowances once a year on a Pro-rata basis.

2. Required qualification

The Program Coordinator will require being an exceptional, dedicated, and highly motivated professional, with a strong commitment to Consortium-Nepal's values and beliefs, with the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sociology, media and communication/Journalism, and/or any similar field
  • Good understanding of Child Rights and Children's Right to Participation
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in similar sorts of position that outlines expected roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with NGOs and government agencies.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali
  • Strong interpersonal communication and documentation skills and sensitivity in response to gender, ethnicity, and disability.

Position Two: Admin and Finance Officer

Position Title:Admin & Finance Officer

Direct Report To:Treasurer & Program Manager
Duty Location:Kathmandu
Effective Date:1st November, 2025

ROLE PURPOSE

The Admin& Finance officer will execute all day-to-day finance, administration, and procurement functional responsibilities for accounting, payroll, procurement, and grants administration.

Responsibilities also include ensuring accuracy of financial reports; proper maintenance of accounting records; accurate processing of financial transactions; and administration of a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the organization’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with the accounting system.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

  • Day-to-day update of financial activities. (i.e., Vouchering with supporting, handling petty cash as per organization policy, updating records, maintaining Ledgers, verifying stationery stock account, and other books of accounts regularly.)
  • Prepare day-to-day journal voucher and maintain the transaction ledger and its reconciliation.
  • Review and check all the financial documents, invoices, agreements and other supporting documents to ensure they comply with organizational policy as well as donor compliance.
  • Payment of staff salaries, ensuring that all required statutory deductions are made and subsequently paid to the appropriate authorities on time.
  • Prepare financial report as per donor standards periodically.
  • Prepare minutes and other correspondence related to the procurement and staffs’ meetings.
  • Monitor budget and share the relevant information to the program coordinator and Treasurer promptly.
  • Prepare and submit monthly TDS, E-TDS, and report to the Inland Revenue Office on time.
  • Support project coordinators/ documentation officer to prepare the budget and budget revision.
  • Perform month-end closing procedures, including overhead allocations, account reconciliations, and updating schedules.
  • Manage bank accounts (record receipts and payments, keep and carry out monthly bank reconciliations)
  • Conduct and schedule internal and external audits.
  • Execute proper accounting and administration principles and documentation practices as per statutory compliance.
  • Provide necessary solution and justification to any management concerns raised by donor or management related to financial management.
  • Ensure effective documentation (soft copy and hard copy both), including record of partnership agreement, approved budgets, email communication, meeting minutes, financial/audit reports and procurement.
  • Any other task as assigned by the supervisor, relevant to a reasonable level of work balance.

ADMINISTRATION:

  • Manage and safeguard staff leave records, daily attendance sheet, timesheet, contracts, personal files, and other official records.
  • Ensure the bills related to utilities (Electricity, Telephone, and water) supplies are cleared in time.
  • Arrange logistics support for seminars, training, and field missions.
  • Provide necessary logistics arrangements (purchase of supplies, air tickets, vehicle hire, hotel services, meeting arrangements, etc.)
  • Maintain updated inventory records, also ensure all assets and office equipment are in good working condition. Carry out necessary and periodic maintenance works on time.

RELATIONSHIP AND EXTERNAL CONTACTS

  • Maintain glorious and healthy relations within the team, development partners, and external parties.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Ensure that the relationships between the various key stakeholders are positive and constructive.
  • Represent the organization at appropriate conferences, seminars and other events.
  • Act as a focal communication point for administration and finance-related expense settlement and payment for internal and external contacts.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience - Minimum 1 year of working experience in a development organization in Admin/Finance role.
  • Knowledge and skills -
    • Practical knowledge of office management, including Admin and Finance Tasks
    • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., FAMAS, Talley, QuickBooks).
    • Competency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, and Nepali typing (preeti or unicode).
    • Flexibility, Motivation, Honest, Reliable, and Cultural awareness.
    • Ability to work in demanding situations and sometimes under pressure.
    • Ability to work in an organized, systematic manner
  • Language English and Nepali

Other tasks may be assigned as necessary according to organizational needs.
