1. Background of ROYM Nepal

Rural Oriented Youth Movement Nepal (ROYM-Nepal) is a non-profit making non-governmental national level organization established in 2009 which envisions a socio-economically empowered society with equality and social justice through its community based collective campaign to create an environment where marginalized groups can raise their voices for economic, cultural and social rights challenging the structural discrimination. It aims at reducing poverty through skill transformation and youth engagement. ROYM-Nepal supports the country in achieving the long-term Sustainable Development Goals on human rights, health, education, gender equality, water, sanitation, environment, social protection, justice and impact of climate change. In more than a decade of its working experience, ROYM-Nepal has been successfully carrying out different community-based interventions and socio-economic programs under WASH, skill promotion, self and gainful-employment, women health, and socio-economic empowerment in 19 districts of Nepal. 

ROYM is looking for the following positions:

1. Position Title: Field Mobilizer

Location: Nuwakot and Rasuwa

Reports to: Project Coordinator

Theme/Sector: DRRM (Emergency Response and Early Recovery)

Required Positions: 3

Position Type: Full-time

Purpose of the Position

The Field Mobilizer is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of emergency response, and early recovery activities under the project/program. The position will support communities, local governments, and other stakeholders to respond to disasters and emergencies in a timely, inclusive, and accountable manner. The role will contribute to rapid assessment, emergency response planning, early recovery, community resilience, and the restoration of essential services and livelihoods following disasters.

The Field Mobilizer will work closely with local governments, provincial authorities, communities, partners, security agencies, humanitarian actors, and other stakeholders to ensure that emergency response and early recovery activities are timely, well-coordinated, gender responsive, and aligned with project objectives, organizational policies, and government priorities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Intermediate level or +2 in Social Sciences, Management, Sociology, Rural Development, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree in Disaster Risk Management, Development Studies, Natural Resource Management, Rural Development will be an advantage.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in emergency response, early recovery, disaster risk reduction, humanitarian assistance, livelihoods, or community development.

2. Position Title: Finance & Administration Officer

Location: ROYM-Nepal, Kathmandu

Reports to: Senior Finance and Admin Officer and Executive Director (ED)

Position Type: Full-time

Required Position: 1

Purpose of the Position

The Finance & Administration Officer (SFAO) is responsible for maintaining sound financial management and efficient administrative operations. The role ensures that both financial and administrative systems support the effective delivery of ROYM’s programs in line with organizational policies, donor compliance, and national regulations. The FAO works under the direct supervision of the Executive Director (ED) and plays a crucial role in internal coordination and operational integrity.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience in finance and administration, preferably with an NGO/INGO or development/humanitarian organization.

3. Position Title: Project Coordinator

Location: ROYM-Nepal, Kathmandu (frequent field visit to Nuwakot and Rasuwa)

Reports to: Sr. Program Coordinator (SPC) and Executive Director (ED) 

Theme/Sector: DRRM (Emergency Response and Early Recovery)

Position Type: Full-time

Purpose of the Position

Project Coordinator (Emergency Response and Early Recovery) plays a key leadership role in planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on ROYM-Nepal's emergency response, and early recovery projects. The position is responsible for ensuring that emergency response and early recovery activities are well planned, timely, inclusive, accountable, and aligned with organizational strategy, government priorities, donor requirements, and the needs of affected communities. The Project Coordinator will provide technical and managerial support to program teams and field staff and will work closely with local, provincial, and national governments, humanitarian actors, partners, communities, and other stakeholders.

The position will also support needs assessment, early recovery planning, community resilience, and learning from emergency operations. The position (Project Coordinator) will have to travel field (80% of the service-time) and will ensure that gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI), safeguarding, protection, accountability, and Do No Harm principles are integrated throughout emergency response and recovery activities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Disaster Risk Management, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Rural Development, or a related field. A Master’s degree will be an advantage. 
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in emergency response, early recovery, disaster risk reduction, humanitarian assistance, livelihoods, or community development.

4. Position Title: Psychosocial Counsellor

Location: Nuwakot and Rasuwa

Reports to: Project/Program Coordinator

Required Positions: 5

Position Type: Full-time

Purpose of the Position

The Psychosocial Counsellor will support people affected by disasters and emergencies to cope with stress, fear, loss, grief, and other emotional difficulties. The Counsellor will provide basic psychosocial support and counselling to affected individuals and families, with particular attention to children, women, older people, persons with disabilities, and other people who may need additional support. The position will work closely with the emergency response and early recovery team, local government, health workers, community groups, and other service providers to make sure that people needing further support can access appropriate services.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field. A Master's degree will be an advantage.
• At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in counselling, psychosocial support, mental health, protection, humanitarian response, or community-based programs.
