Group of Helping Hands (SAHAS) Nepal is a non-profit making non-governmental-organization founded in 1996. Since then, SAHAS Nepal has been engaging in social mobilization, grassroots organisation/Community-Based Network Organisation (CBNO) formation and enhancing their capacity through partnership and implementing diverse programme and projects in the sectors of sustainable agriculture and food security, climate change, and education in 21 districts of Nepal. 

SAHAS Nepal will be implementing an education project in Siraha district in Arnama and Bishnupur Rural Municipalities. The aim of the project is to enhance quality in education through an inclusive educational environment for children and improved livelihoods of parents in Siraha district. SAHAS Nepal is seeking energetic, committed and creative candidates to work on the education project aimed at enhancing the quality of education for the following positions, which will be based in Siraha district.

1. Position: Project Coordinator

Required no: 1

Academic Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Science, Development Studies, or a related field, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in the education sector, preferably Master’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience in the education sector 
  • Proven project management experience, including planning, organizing, and managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects. 
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with Rural Municipalities, schools, teachers, and other education stakeholders. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at community, municipal, district, and provincial levels. 
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and inspire project staff. 
  • Knowledge of Nepal’s education system, policies, learning theories, and pedagogical strategies; familiarity with broader development work is an asset. 
  • Prior experience working in rural communities, preferably in the Terai or similar geographic contexts.
  • Fluency in Maithili is highly preferred; strong command of Nepali and English (written and spoken). 
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic data management tools.

Major Responsibilities

Project Planning, Implementation, and Monitoring

  • Lead overall project implementation in alignment with project goals, logframe, and detailed implementation plan. 
  • Prepare annual, quarterly, and monthly work plans and ensure timely execution of activities as per project documents. 
  • Collaborate with technical service providers to implement learning programs, training modules, and teaching–learning materials. 
  • Manage project budgets, ensure expenditures comply with donor guidelines, and prepare budget reports as required by funding partners. 
  • Track project progress, identify bottlenecks, document challenges and best practices, and recommend adaptive management actions. 
  • Conduct regular field visits to assess program effectiveness, provide on-site coaching, and identify areas for improvement.

Coordination and Collaboration

  • Establish and maintain strong coordination with local government units (Rural Municipalities), education units, schools, teachers, and other relevant stakeholders at municipal, district, and provincial levels.
  • Liaise with project teams, partners, and key development facilitators to ensure smooth implementation and resource sharing. 
  • Represent SAHAS Nepal at community, municipal, and district forums; ensure effective communication and cooperation with all stakeholders. 
  • Facilitate community engagement activities to promote ownership and sustainability of project interventions. 

Staff Mobilization, Monitoring, and Performance Review

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise project staff; provide regular coaching, capacity-building sessions, and performance feedback. 
  • Mobilize staff according to project needs across Arnama and Bishnupur Rural Municipalities. 
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews and support professional development of team members. 

Report Writing and Documentation

  • Prepare timely progress reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) aligned with project goals and donor requirements. 
  • Document key activities, lessons learned, case studies, and best practices for internal learning and external sharing. 
  • Ensure proper filing and archiving of project documents, reports, and monitoring data.

2. Position: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer

Required no: 1

Academic Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Development Studies, Social Science, Statistics, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in M&E for education or development projects, preferably in rural or Terai contexts.
  • Strong experience with data collection and analysis tools (e.g., Kobo Toolbox, Excel, SPSS, Power BI, or similar). 
  • Good understanding of Nepal’s education system, policies, and the broader development landscape. 
  • Good computer skills (MS Office, especially Excel) and strong written and spoken English; Nepali required, Maithili preferred. 
  • Experience designing surveys (baseline, midline, endline), indicators, and MEAL frameworks. 
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills; ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Major Responsibilities

Monitoring Planning and Indicator Development

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Monitoring plan for the project. 
  • Support the Project Coordinator in defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) at impact, outcome, output, and activity levels. 
  • Ensure alignment of indicators with donor requirements and national education standards.

Data Management, Collection, and Analysis

  • Establish and maintain a project database to track progress against activities, outputs, outcomes, and impact. 
  • Design and pilot data collection tools (surveys, checklists, feedback forms) for baseline, midline, and endline assessments. 
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and ethical data collection, entry, cleaning, analysis, and visualization. 
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities in schools and communities and validate data quality. 

Reporting, Documentation, and Learning

  • Generate periodic M&E reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) highlighting progress, trends, challenges, and recommendations. 
  • Assist the Project Coordinator in preparing results-based reports of the project.  
  • Document lessons learned, success stories, case studies, and best practices using text, photos, and video (with consent). 
  • Organize capacity-building sessions for project staff on M&E tools, methodologies, and data use for decision-making. 
  • Work closely with the project team to ensure all indicators are regularly monitored, reported, and used for adaptive management. 

3. Position: Admin and Finance Assistant

Required Number: 1

Academic Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies (BBS), Business Administration (BBA), Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in finance, accounting, administration, procurement, or project support, preferably with an NGO/INGO or development organization.
  • Practical knowledge and experience in financial record keeping, bookkeeping, budget monitoring, procurement, and administrative management.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and accounting software.
  • Knowledge of government tax regulations, NGO financial procedures, donor compliance, and applicable organizational policies will be an advantage.
  • Good communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality in handling financial and administrative information.
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team and manage multiple tasks within deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Finance and Accounting

  • Maintain day-to-day financial records and ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
  • Maintain proper supporting documents, vouchers, bills, receipts, and other financial records in accordance compliance with organizational, government, and donor requirements.
  • Handle and maintain the project account and ensure proper documentation and reconciliation of project transactions.
  • Prepare periodic financial statements, expenditure reports, cash forecasts, and other financial information required by the project.
  • Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and identify variances for timely action.
  • Support the preparation, revision, and monitoring of the project budget in coordination with the Project Coordinator and relevant staff.
  • Ensure timely settlement of advances and maintain proper records of outstanding advances and liabilities.
  • Support internal and external audits and provide required financial documents and explanations.

Procurement and Logistics

  • Manage procurement-related processes in accordance with organizational procurement policies and donor requirements.
  • Obtain quotations, prepare procurement documentation, maintain supplier records, and ensure proper documentation of purchases.
  • Support the timely procurement and distribution of goods, materials, and services required for project implementation.
  • Maintain records of project assets, equipment, stock, and inventory.
  • Ensure the safe custody and appropriate use of project assets and materials.

Administration and Human Resources Support

  • Manage day-to-day administrative and logistical requirements of the project.
  • Maintain project-related personnel records, attendance, leave, contracts, and other administrative documents.
  • Ensure proper filing and safeguarding of administrative, financial, procurement, and personnel documents.

Coordination, Reporting and Compliance

  • Provide financial and administrative information required for project monitoring and reporting.
  • Perform other finance and administrative duties assigned by the supervisor in support of effective project implementation.

4. Position: Education Educator

Required Number: 2

Academic Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum Intermediate level education; a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Development Studies, Sociology, or a related field will be preferred.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in community mobilization, education, child development, social development, or development projects.
  • Experience working with schools, teachers, parents, children/adolescents, community groups, and local government stakeholders will be an advantage.
  • Experience working in rural and marginalized communities, preferably in Madhesh Province or similar geographical and socio-cultural contexts.
  • Experience in facilitating community groups, training, orientation, meetings, and capacity-building activities.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, coordination, networking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good report-writing and documentation skills with basic computer literacy, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong commitment to community participation, inclusion, child rights, gender equality, and quality education.
  • Ability to speak Maithili language is desirable.

Major Responsibilities

Community Mobilization and Group Strengthening

  • Work closely with parents, teachers, School Management Committees (SMCs), Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs), youth, community groups, local leaders and other stakeholders to promote quality education and improved livelihoods.
  • Facilitate the formation, strengthening, and institutional development of community-based groups.
  • Encourage community ownership and participation in education improvement and community development initiatives.

Education and School Support

  • Support schools and local stakeholders in addressing challenges related to school enrolment, attendance, retention, learning achievement, and quality of education.
  • Promote child-friendly, inclusive, gender-responsive, and participatory approaches to education.
  • Support schools and communities in implementing education improvement plans and project interventions.

Field Implementation and Coordination

  • Identify implementation challenges and facilitate effective communication between the project team, schools, communities, local government, and other stakeholders for timely action
  • Coordinate with relevant government offices, schools, community organizations, and local stakeholders to support project implementation.
  • Support the organization of training, workshops, meetings, campaigns, and other project events.

Monitoring, Documentation and Reporting

  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities, assess progress, and collect feedback from beneficiaries and stakeholders.
  • Assist in collecting and maintaining proper records of field activities, participants, achievements, challenges, and follow-up actions for monitoring, evaluation, and reporting purposes.
  • Support the M&E Officer in data collection, verification, monitoring, and documentation.

5. Position: Agriculture Technician

Required Number: 2

Academic Qualification and Experience

  • Diploma in Agriculture from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in agriculture extension, climate-smart agriculture, community mobilization, agricultural production, or related development projects will be preferred.
  • Sound technical knowledge and practical experience in crop production, vegetable farming, soil management, livestock, climate-smart agriculture, farmer training, demonstrations,  and working with farmer groups, communities, schools, and local government.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork, community participation and inclusion.
  • Good computer skills, including MS Word and Excel, and ability to prepare basic technical reports.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Agriculture Support

  • Provide technical support and facilitate training and demonstrations for farmers and community groups on crop production, vegetable farming, livestock management, sustainable and climate-smart agriculture, and improved farming technologies.
  • Support and train farmers and groups in planning and implementing seasonal agricultural activities and demonstrate appropriate agricultural technologies and best practices.
  • Provide technical support to schools and communities on climate-smart agriculture, food security, nutrition-sensitive agriculture, and sustainable farming practices.
  • Promote linkages between agriculture, education, nutrition, food security, livelihoods, and life skills.

Community Group Formation and Capacity Development

  • Facilitate the formation and strengthening of community-based and farmer groups to develop their organizational capacity, leadership, planning, record keeping, and decision-making skills.
  • Facilitate preparation and implementation of agriculture-related plans developed by community groups.

Coordination and Linkages

  • Coordinate with local agriculture offices, livestock offices, ward offices, rural municipalities/municipalities, agricultural service providers, cooperatives, farmer groups, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with ward-level and local government authorities.
  • Facilitate linkages between community groups and relevant government agricultural extension services, technical institutions, markets, and service providers where appropriate.

Monitoring, Documentation and Reporting

  • Regularly monitor and conduct follow up visits to agriculture-related activities, training, demonstrations, and field trials after implementation.
  • Prepare clear and timely reports after monitoring and field visits, highlighting progress, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations.
  • Maintain records of farmers/groups trained, technologies demonstrated, beneficiaries reached, and results achieved.
