The Rural Region and Agroforestry Development Centre (RRAFDC) is a non-profit organization located in Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City, Bara, Nepal, established in 24 Mar 2000 AD. It aims to build a fair, self-reliant, and resilient society by supporting disadvantaged and marginalized communities in rural areas. RRAFDC specializes in socio-economic empowerment and sustainable development through initiatives in livelihood promotion, environmental conservation, education, gender equality, and disaster management. The organization collaborates with national and international partners to strengthen community capacities and advocate for equitable policies, ensuring the voices of underserved populations are heard. RRAFDC emphasizes local resource mobilization and community engagement to create meaningful change and enhance the well-being of vulnerable groups. RRAFDC invites applications from qualified and experienced Nepalese citizens for the following positions for an anticipated project;

Details of Announcement:

1. Aquaculture Specialist (AS) – 01 position

Aquaculture Specialists would collaborate with government agencies, private sector, companies, fish feed industries and other value-chain actors. The AS support in production and capacity building of commercial industry, technicians at private and public fish farms, hatcheries rear, process, and support fish marketing process. He/She works closely with aquaculture market including fish farmers, seed and feed millers, processors, dealers and sub-dealers. AS can also assist commercial aquaculture companies with business plans and economic forecasts. The AS also prepares annual plans and calendars and shares with the project team. Coordinates with government offices, fish farms, hatcheries, breeding centers for information gathering, dissemination of knowledge and skills and learning.

Job Location: Based in Kalaiya, Bara, with responsibilities covering local operations in the Bara and Parsa districts.

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries/aquaculture, agriculture, or a related field. Master in fisheries is preferable with 2-5 years of experience

2. Aquaculture Field Coordinator (AFC)-01 position

This position will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating aquaculture activities in Bara and Parsa, ensuring alignment with project goals. The AFC will provide technical support to Aquaculture Field Facilitators (AFFs), assist in the formation and development of Fish Farmer Groups, and organize training and capacity-building sessions in collaboration with the Aquaculture Specialist. Regular field visits will be conducted to evaluate fish farm management and offer technical assistance, while also facilitating market linkages between farmers and market stakeholders, such as suppliers and buyers. Additionally, the AFC will ensure the collection of accurate data and prepare regular progress reports for the Aquaculture Specialist.

Job Location: Based in Kalaiya, Bara, with responsibilities covering local operations in the Bara and Parsa districts.

Qualification and Experience: At least a Bachelor in Fishery, Veterinary, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Aquaculture Business or related field.

Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in aquaculture or rural development program

3. Aquaculture Field Facilitator (AFF) - 1 positions

The position is responsible for supporting local fish farmers by establishing Fish Farmer Groups (FFGs) and enhancing their aquaculture skills. Key responsibilities include identifying and forming FFGs, organizing training sessions on fish farming, hatchery management, and business practices, and monitoring farm conditions through regular site visits. The AFF also facilitates market linkages by connecting farmers with suppliers, buyers, and financial institutions to enhance their resource and market access. Additionally, the facilitator is responsible for collecting data on farming activities and providing regular updates to the Aquaculture Field Coordinator..

Job Location: Parsa and Bara districts.

Qualifications: Minimum +2 qualification or a diploma in Fisheries, Agriculture, or a related field.

Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in aquaculture or rural development or social mobilization is preferred.
