Vacancy Announcement for HEAL Project
Published Date: 13 November 2025
Multipurpose Development Society (MPDS) is a Nepali non-governmental, not-for-profit, social development organization, committed to driving positive change and empowerment in Nepal’s rural communities. The organization's vision is to envision a healthy, beautiful, peaceful, disciplined, self-reliant, exemplary, and dynamic society with gender equality. MPDS has been working with the poor and marginalized people in Sudurpaschim province to empower them for the past 27 years.
In partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the Multipurpose Development Society (MPDS) is going to implement a 20-month Health Equity and Access for the Last-mile Communities (HEAL) Project in Alital Rural Municipality of Dadeldhura. The main objective of this project is empowered and inclusive communities, especially women, persons with disabilities, Dalits, Janajati, poor people, and other marginaliz ed groups, exercise their health rights and advocate for more affordable, quality, and inclusive health services and responsive social protection for diverse community needs.
The project promotes localization, participation, empowerment, and the integration of digital technology. The goal of this project is to create local governance responsive to Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) where the voices and needs of marginalized communities are not only heard but also actively included in the planning, budgeting, and delivery of health and social protection services. This is achieved by simultaneously building the capacity and confidence of marginalized community members to engage actively and equipping local government officials to facilitate inclusive processes and respond equitably. The project thus creates a virtuous cycle of awareness leading to voice, and voice leading to responsive action. The project will engage community members in discussion and actively tackle and challenge the root causes of gender, caste, disability, socio-economic base and other forms of discrimination as well as harmful traditional practices by increasing awareness through various dialogues, campaigns and interventions.
