Nepal Agriculture Cooperative Central Federation Limited (NACCFL)

Nepal Agriculture Cooperative Central Federation Limited (NACCFL), established in 2008, is the apex body of Small Farmers Agriculture Cooperatives (SFACLs) and similar agricultural cooperatives across Nepal with the network of more than 1300 cooperatives covering 1.2 million farmers. Formed through the community-led transformation of the Small Farmers Development Program, NACCFL aims to enhance livelihoods and reduce poverty among rural smallholder farmers. NACCFL engages in policy advocacy and institutional development in favor of smallholder farmers, foster enabling environment to access credit and markets, support farmers and stakeholders in technical backstopping, promote improved agricultural practices, strengthen cooperative governance, and scaling up climate-resilient technologies.

In collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, NACCFL seeks to scale up its ongoing efforts under the Global Agriculture and Food Security Programme (GAFSP). The project focuses on strengthening legal frameworks, enhancing accountability, transparency, and efficiency, ensuring compliance with the Cooperative Act, and enforcing regulations to build sustainable and effective Producers Organization (PO). The project’s core objective is to enhance food and nutrition security and livelihood resilience among the most vulnerable and food-insecure households in Bardiya, with a strong emphasis on gender and social inclusion. It also aims to increase income for marginalized groups, promote climate-resilient agricultural practices, and deliver essential agricultural inputs and services to project beneficiaries. The project covers Bardiya district and will actively engage with cooperatives such as Mainapokhar, Padnaha, Kalika, Deudakala, and Basgadhi in production and marketing of agricultural commodities, including oilseeds. The project announces the following vacancies

1. Position: Project Coordinator - 1

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, and monitoring of project activities under the GAFSP initiative. The position aims to ensure the timely and effective delivery of project outcomes, aligned with the goal of enhancing food and nutrition security and strengthening the livelihood resilience of vulnerable and food-insecure households in Bardiya district, with a focus on gender equality and social inclusion.

Duty Station: Field Based (Bardiya)

Duration: 3 years

2. Position: Marketing Officer - 1

The Marketing Officer will be responsible in developing and executing marketing strategies to promote and sell agricultural products especially mustard oil from the cooperatives. This role involves assessing and implementing agricultural market, value chain assessment and development, identifying target audiences and implementing effective marketing campaigns to increase product awareness and sales.

Duty Station: 50% field-Bardiya and 50% Kathmandu based with frequent travel to major market area in Nepal

Duration: A total of 360 days within 3 years project periods.

3. Position: Nutrition Officer -1

The Nutrition Officer is responsible for effective planning, coordination, and implementation of all nutrition-related components of the GAFSP project. This role focuses on improving the nutritional status and dietary practices of vulnerable and food-insecure households in Bardiya district, with particular attention to women, children, and marginalized communities. The Nutrition Officer will provide guidance and oversight to field-level nutrition supervisors and will spend significant time in the field, working closely with staff, farmer groups, and local development partners to ensure quality implementation and strong community engagement.

Duty Station: Field based-Bardiya with occasional travel to Kathmandu as per need.

Duration: A total of 360 days within 3 years project periods.

4. Position: Livestock Technician -1

The overall objective of the position is to provide technical support to livestock farmers in targeted agricultural cooperatives of Bardiya, Nepal. The focus will be on enhancing livestock management practices, conducting Livestock Farmer Field School sessions, promoting home nutrition gardens, school nutrition gardens, and providing essential input support for sustainable livestock development in the region. 5. Position: Junior Technician (Agriculture) -1

The general objective of this position is to provide technical support to farmers, conducting Farmer Field School activities and supporting other project activities. JT will work to enhance the agricultural knowledge and practices of farmers, promote sustainable farming methods, and contribute to promoting diversification in farming, and overall improvement of farming methods and agricultural productivity in the project area.
