Multipurpose Development Society (MPDS) is a Nepali non-governmental, not-for-profit, social development organization, committed to driving positive change and empowerment in Nepal’s rural communities. The organization's vision is to envision a healthy, beautiful, peaceful, disciplined, self-reliant, exemplary, and dynamic society with gender equality.  MPDS has been working with the poor and marginalized people in Sudurpashchim province to empower them for the past 28 years. MPDS has expanded its operations and is currently implementing various projects across Sudurpashchim, Karnali, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces, in partnership with national and international donors, as well as UN agencies.

  • Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Information Sciences, Political Science, Sociology, International Relations, Economics, Law or related fields
  • Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Commitment
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in development/media information sectors.
  • Have a capacity to provide strategic guidance for conceptualization and implementation of the project.
  • Knowledge about media, GBV, social networking, national and international relationships, law.
  • Knowledge to ensure quality assure and liaise the qualitative and quantitative analyses produced.
  • Have sound skill to write the monthly reports and produce project reports.
  • Skills and knowledge to contribute to quantitative and qualitative data analysis requirements for the reports and media platforms.
  • Strong knowledge and skills to coordinate all research and analysis work and regularly consult with the Donors, partners, Government and international agencies.
  • Capable and committed to ensure timely submission of deliverables.
  • Strong knowledge, skills, desires and committed to communicating risks and challenges identified, if any, during the research.
  • Skills and understanding of coordination and collaboration and capacity to perform all the duties as requirement of the project and context.

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Commitment
  • At least 5 years of prior experience in training, education, or capacity-building.
  • Knowledge of digital rights frameworks.
  • Understanding of media literacy and law.
  • Skills and knowledge in designing and conducting workshops and training modules and sessions on digital rights, responsible social media use, and media literacy.
  • Skills and experiences in training on tools and techniques for monitoring social media platforms, identifying misinformation, hate speech, and emerging digital risks.
  • Skills and ability to educate youths about privacy, freedom of expression, intellectual property, and safe online practices, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards.
  • Capacity to develop user's guide on e-monitor+.

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Commitment
  • At least 3 years of prior experience in collating social media data and related fields.
  • Knowledge of media network and communication.
  • Understanding of media literacy and data.
  • Capacity to manage the data collection process.
  • Skills and capacity to engage in data annotation, crowd-sourcing contents, social media monitoring, content analysis, data cleaning and other related tasks.
  • Skills and knowledge on continuously track social media platforms like Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp, Instagram, LinkedIn X, and YouTube to identify hate speech, misinformation, harassment, and other digital harms in real time.
  • Capacity to detect and flag posts involving hate speech, misinformation, disinformation, harassment or other forms of digital harm according to defined guidelines.
  • Skills and knowledge in monitoring hashtags, key words, and viral topics to understand how narratives evolve and spree\ad across platforms.
  • Skills and capability in providing access to local language understanding and access to lack networks.
  • Skills and capacity to produce analytical reports as per prescribed forms and formats.

Fluent in Nepali and English language.

Position Program Coordination & Social Media Analyst

  • At least 5 years of prior experience in the field of communication, information technology, business studies, research, survey and data analysis.
  • Knowledge understanding of digital platforms and social media platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp, Instagram, LinkedIn X, and YouTube.
  • Strong knowledge of analytics tools, and methods.
  • Skills and strong knowledge of analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing ability.
  • Understanding of trends, algorithms, and audience behavior.
  • Knowledge and understanding in analyzing trend and risks patterns by examining how harmful narratives spread, identify emerging risks and map patterns in user behavior or content amplification.
  • Skills and capacity to develop reports as per the prescribed template highlighting key findings, trends in harmful content and actionable recommendations for policy, communications or intervention strategies for the project and organization in Nepali and English language.

PositionFinance and Logistic Officer

Minimum Required QualificationAt least Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Finance, Commerce, Management, Finance, Accounting, Administration or related fields.
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Commitment

At least 5 years of prior experience in accounting and logistics management.

Proven ability to work with multiple partners such as the Government, NGOs, INGOs, and UN agencies.

Skills and knowledge of accounting software.

Proven experience in managing day-to-day office operation, including reception, filing systems (digital and physical), and coordinating staff schedules.

Skills and knowledge of procurement and purchasing.

Strong knowledge of asset management, inventory and stock control, workshop and event logistics, and distribution management plans.

Skills and knowledge in handling petty cash, processing invoices and assisting the finance team with budget tracking for administrative planning.

A deep understanding of compliance, ethics and auditing.

Ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders, vendors, line agencies, governmental officials and national and international donors.

Understanding and familiarity with the taxation rules and regulations of Nepal Government.
