Consultant/Facilitator/Facilitator to facilitate Training on Psychosocial Support, Basic Search and Rescue (BSAR), and Basic First Aid for Rapid Response Teams under the Securing the Access for Education (SAFE) Project
This consultancy service is to facilitate three days training cluster wise on Psychosocial Support, Basic Search and Rescue (BSAR), and Basic First Aid for Rapid Response Teams to the participants of project schools from Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality, Dhading, Nepal
1. Introduction:
Prayatnashil Community Development Society (PRAYAS Nepal), Dhading is a non-governmental organization dedicated towards quality education, livelihood, good governance, inclusive and well-being of Nepalese people. PRAYAS Nepal focuses on children, women, marginalized and rural communities by setting holistic development goals in creating transformed and interdependent society. PRAYAS Nepal envisions a new Nepal by positive transformation of socio-economic aspect of society and individual through capacity enhancement and optimum utilization of local resources. PRAYAS Nepal has been working with government & non- government partners since its establishment.
2. Context:
Nepal is highly vulnerable to natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, landslides, fires, and windstorms. These disasters frequently affect schools and communities, resulting not only in physical damage but also in psychological distress among children, teachers, and community members. Strengthening local preparedness and emergency response capacity is therefore essential for minimizing disaster impacts and ensuring timely support to affected populations.
PRAYAS Nepal, with technical and financial support from ChildFund Japan, Nepal Office (CFJNO) is implementing the SAFE Project (Safer Schools and Communities) in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality, Dhading. The project focuses on strengthening School-Based Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SBDRRM) in 19 project schools through capacity building, infrastructure improvement, awareness raising, and community participation.
As part of SAFE project, PRAYAS Nepal intends to conduct three separate three-day training programs for Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) in Wards 6, 8, and 10. The training will strengthen participants' knowledge and practical skills in Basic Search and Rescue (BSAR), Basic First Aid, Psychological First Aid (PFA), and psychosocial support. An experienced consultant/facilitator is required to design and facilitate these training programs.
3. Objectives of the assignment:
The overall purpose of the training is to facilitate three events of 3-day training on Psychosocial Support, Basic Search and Rescue (BSAR), and Basic First Aid for Rapid Response Teams to the participants of the project area. So, the consultant designs training contents and facilitates it accordingly for enhancing the capacity of approximately 60 participants in the project area. The training expects to support participants from school to understanding and applying the skills and knowledge effectively in Schools.
The overall objective:
To strengthen participants' understanding of disaster preparedness and emergency response
Specific Objectives:
- Improve participants’ understanding of the fundamentals SBDRRM
- Conduct simulation exercises to strengthen emergency response mechanisms and communication systems.
- Strengthen participants' knowledge of Basic First Aid.
- Enhance participants in psychosocial support

a) PRAYAS Nepal is inviting applications from qualified companies/firms, motivated candidates who are interested to submit a cover letter, their company profile with updated CVs of facilitator, financial proposal, PAN/VAT registration, academic qualifications and a copy of national ID card or passport, all that should be addressed to email account of PRAYAS Nepal procurement.prayasnepal@gmail.com no later than 5 PM 7th September 2026.
b) Only short-listed consultants will be contacted for an interview. All rights are reserved with PRAYAS Nepal either to approve or disapprove any application without giving any reasons whatsoever. If needed, the consultant will be asked for modifications and presentations of the application/proposal before approval.
c) PRAYAS Nepal is a child focused organization, so we need to keep children safe. Our selection process reflects our commitment to the safety and protection of children in all our programs. Therefore, the selected consultant will be subjected to background check.
