Cricket Coach hiring for sports for ending child marriage Cricket campaign 

Background

RRPK is non-governmental, nonprofit making social development organization, established in 2061 BS (2004 AD) by a team of active professionals with long experience in the field of integrated community development, health, disability, community forestry, micro-finance, gender empowerment, good governance, child rights, livelihood, safe migration, DRR and WASH. RRPK is registered under Society Registration Act, 2034, at the District Administration Office of Sarlahi .It has been acting in coordination and partnership with governmental, international, and national non-governmental organizations to address the problems to bring positive change for sustainable development in our society. These days, RRPK has been implementing Sponsorship (Samunnati) Program in Godaita & Balara Municipality since July 2017 in partnership with Save the Children to improve the lives of children in Sarlahi district through education, health & nutrition, livelihood, Protection, and adolescent development. 

Objective

The primary objective of this assignment is to coach and mentor local players through structured sports programming, while promoting gender equality and social change by using sports as a platform to raise awareness and prevent Child Early Forced Marriage (CEFM) in the community.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Sports Coach will be responsible for the following:

  • Conduct regular sports training sessions for selected municipality-level players (minimum 3- and max 5 sessions per week). This assignment will be for 3 Months. 
  • Develop and implement inclusive sports training plans and modules, integrating life skills and messages against child, early, and forced marriage.
  • Serve as a mentor and positive role model to youth, especially girls, building their confidence and resilience.
  • Engage parents, teachers, and community leaders in awareness-building on the benefits of sports in preventing early marriage and promoting girls’ education.
  • Coordinate with local government, schools, and ward offices to mobilize team members/youth and facilitate local sports events with integrated messages on ending CEFM.
  • Monitor players’ progress, ensure gender balance and inclusion (girls, Dalits, Janajatis, children with disabilities and as per the designed project), and submit monthly progress reports to RRPK.
  • Create a safe, respectful, and gender-sensitive training environment for all participants.
  • The facilitator should facilitate 2 groups of Balara municipality. Or as per agreement. 
  • Support in planning and execution of municipal sports tournaments, including thematic campaigns like "Let Her Dream, Let Her Play!" ,"Whistle for Her Rights, Not Her Wedding!", "Champions Say No to Child Marriage!" ,"Boys and Girls – Equal on the Field, Equal in Life!", "She Deserves a Ball, not a Burden!", "Voice, Choice, and Victory for Girls!

Required Qualifications, Experience

Proven experience as a coach, trainer, or physical education instructor, preferably in Cricket and relevant athletics.

  • At least 2 years of experience working with youth or school/community-based sports teams.
  •  Experience in gender equality, child rights, Palika level training or social change campaigns will be an added advantage.
  •  Strong understanding of local context and ability to engage sensitively with marginalized groups.
  •  Certified from National Sports Council or relevant authority preferred.
  • Good communication and facilitation skills, especially with adolescents and caregivers.
  • Commitment to child protection, safeguarding, and gender equity.

Duration of Assignment:

This assignment is for a 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The coach is expected to be available for evening/morning and weekend sessions as required.

Reporting

The coach will report directly to the Program Coordinator/Field Coordinator (Child Protection) of RRPK and work closely with the WCRC and Local Child Right Committee, local schools, and community stakeholders.

Budget:

A competitive monthly allowance will be provided based on experience and qualifications, in accordance with RRPK’s HR policy. The budget should include all the taxes, travel, snacks & other expenses. 

Bid Assessment:

After evaluation of the proposals by the Procurement Committee, RRPK will make award to the applicant, whose proposal provides the best value, considering both technical and financial factors. 

  • Technical-60% (Quality of proposal containing capacity statement for the assignment, methodology and implementation plan, qualification, team composition and experiences in relevant thematic sector/assignment)
  • Financial (Value for money) - 40%

Payment Schedule: 

  • 20% of the agreed budget will be paid after the agreement process, 
  • 20% will be paid after 1 month of training conduction, report submission to the Field Coordinator concerned and recommendation by Field Coordinator. 
  • 30% will be paid after 2 months of training conduction, report submission to the Field Coordinator concerned and recommendation by Field Coordinator. 
  • 30% will be paid after 3 months of training conduction, final report submission to Field Coordinator, campaign conduction and recommendation by Field Coordinator.

  • Updated CV with relevant experience, mentioned as required documents section.
  • A brief concept notes (max 1 page) on how sports can be used to prevent child, early, and forced marriage
  • Experience documents. 
  • Copy of citizenship and any relevant certification.
  • PAN for individual
  • PAN/VAT and other relevant legal documents in case of institutional organization.  

Timeline tentatively, 

  • Application Deadline: 14th  August 2025
  • Contract Sign: 24th  August 2025
  • Start Date: 1st September 2025
  • End Date: 30th November 2025
  • Campaign conduction: by 1st week of December.
