Position: Warden – Saathi Children’s Safer Home
Location: Nakkhu, Lalitpur (Junior Girls Safer Home | Ages 6–15)

Organizational Background:
Saathi is a leading non-governmental organization in Nepal established in 1991 to address the pressing issues of Violence Against Women (VAW) and Children. Since 2001, Saathi has been operating its Children’s Program to provide safe shelter, psychosocial support, education, and holistic care for children affected by abuse, neglect, poverty, and violence.
Position Summary:
The Warden will be responsible for the overall care, supervision, and emotional well-being of the children residing in the Safer Home. The role requires a compassionate, organized, and child-friendly individual who can maintain a nurturing and structured environment while ensuring the implementation of Saathi’s child protection and safeguarding policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily routines including education, hygiene, meals, rest, and recreation for children.
- Provide emotional support, consistent discipline, and conflict resolution guidance.
- Monitor the physical and mental well-being of children and report concerns promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and a child-friendly environment across the home.
- Encourage learning and development through structured activities and support from tuition teachers.
- Serve as a key liaison with guardians, counselors, and the program team.
- Keep updated records on each child and manage attendance, petty cash, and documentation.
- Conduct regular inspections of the home to ensure facility safety and maintenance.
- Promote hygiene and healthy living practices among children.
- Demonstrate positive behavior and communication, modeling empathy and patience.
- Address behavioral issues respectfully and ensure a supportive environment.
- Participate in trainings and workshops relevant to child care and safeguarding.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum age requirement: 30 years.
- Prior experience working with children, particularly in residential settings, is preferred.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficient in both spoken and written English and Nepali.
- Competence in computer applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, email).
- Must be flexible to work during off-hours, weekends, and emergencies.
Additional Requirements:
- This is a full-time residential role; the Warden must reside on-site.
- Willingness to work during weekends, holidays, or outside regular hours when required.
- A police clearance certificate will be mandatory prior to appointment.
