Project Focal Person

Funded by Childaid Network Foundation (CAN); Community Development Society (CDS) and Green Tara Nepal (GTN) are implementing health and vocational training projects in Ramechhap and Dolakha districts of Nepal. For the mentioned two projects we are searching for a Focal Person who will lead on the overall project management on the planning and reporting level, being the link between CAN and implementing NGO partners. The Focal Person will be employed to 50% by GTN and to 50% by CDS.

The health project aims to engage all schools, health facilities and community health structures (including Female Community Health Volunteers and Health Mother Groups) of Tamakoshi and Baiteshwor Rural Municipalities and Jiri Municipality of Dolakha district for promoting healthy behaviors of children, women, and adults.

The project “Vocational and Technical Training for Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Development Project” is being implemented in Doramba, Sunapati and Khadadevi Rural Municipalities of Ramechhap district. This project aims at supporting youths and young adults in the Ramechhap district live a self-determined life and contribute to the socio-economic development of the region through their professional success.

Position Duration:

39 months

Kathmandu 50% and Manthali 50%


Who can apply?

  • Master’s degree equivalent to public health, education, social science, women studies, health promotion or other relevant subjects
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in project implementation, GoN and donor/partner coordination, documentation, and reporting, preferably in the field of vocational training and health promotion
  • Proven track record of directly managing a project team and collaborating effectively at all levels of an organization

Required skills:

  • Extensive experience in program implementation, human resource, and financial management of middle
  • Ability to act as a coordination link between donor and implementing partners
  • Outstanding interpersonal and coordination skills as well as the ability to create networks
  • Strong organizational skills, task prioritization and attention to detail
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Excellent IT skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) both in English and Nepali
  • Fluent in English, both verbal communication and writing  

Major duties and responsibilities:

Program planning and implementation

  • Developing yearly and quarterly project activity and budget plans in coordination with Project Management team and GTN/CDS executive Directors
  • Guiding the project teams in developing detailed implementation plan based on the yearly plans
  • Conducting regular meetings with the Project Managers to review work plans and to ensure timely execution of the activities
  • Ensuring regular visits in each project district, and identifying issues, challenges, and problems in the project implementation as well as proposing solution

Coordination

  • Ensuring clear and good communication between all project stakeholders including GTN, CDS, Training Service Provider (TSP), CAN
  • Coordinating with key stakeholders at local, provincial, and federal level for the successful and smooth running of overall program
  • Maintaining a close communication and coordination with CAN

Mentoring and Technical Support to Project team

  • Mentoring and guiding staff in all PMC relevant issues
  • Identify training needs/capacity enhancement for the staff

M&E

  • Ensuring proper monitoring and evaluation of the project outcomes along with partner organizations M&E tools and system
  • Support project management teams in setting up project databases, tracking project progress, outcomes and log-frame indicators

Documentation, data management and reporting

  • Providing monthly summary reports, quarterly narrative reports and annual reports in coordination with the Project Managers
  • Provide update regarding program status, challenges, and opportunities to CAN

General

  • Perform tasks as assigned by the GTN Country Director and CDS Executive Director
  • Assist in conducting needs assessments, baseline and end line surveys and project evaluation

Green Tara Nepal (GTN) is a non-political, non-profit making, non-governmental organization, established in 2007, working in the field of maternal and child health. It works in research, publications, advocacy, training and social mobilization in a holistic community development approach. Green Tara Nepal aims to bridge the gap between rural and urban, rich and poor and men and women in accessing services and improving healthy behaviors through community development and health promotion approach.

Community Development Society (CDS), established in 2001, has been working in different thematic areas such as livelihood improvement, health, sanitation, environment conservation, education, disaster risk minimization, social security and inclusion, strengthening of community organization and sustainable organizational development. CDS envisions developing a self-reliant, healthy and equitable society with a strong conviction of promoting social justice and equality by abolishing existing socio-economic inequality.
