Job Description:
Position: Project Coordinator
Line Management Report to: Executive Director/ Chairperson
Technical Report to: OHW District Coordinator
Supervision: Admin Finance Officer, Field Officers and Community Mobilizer Level
Duty Station: District Headquarters with 70% field visit.
Project Coordinator leads overall management of OHW supported MNH project in the district under the guidance of Executive Director/Chairperson and in coordination with District Coordinator - OHW. This position is responsible to provide overall programmatic, financial and management support in planning, implementing, and monitoring of activities of his/her district.’
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management
- Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of transition-related activities in alignment with the Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP) and OHW guidelines.
- Coordinate day-to-day field operations, ensuring timely, efficient, and quality implementation of project activities.
- Supervise district-level staff and support performance management processes, including annual performance reviews, to strengthen team accountability and effectiveness.
- Identify programmatic, administrative, and logistical needs; prepare and submit corresponding requests to the OHW District Coordinator for timely procurement and distribution.
- Organize and facilitate District Project Advisory Committee (DPAC) meetings in accordance with Social Welfare Council (SWC) requirements.
- Foster effective coordination and maintain strong working relationships with the Health Office, District Coordination Committee, local municipalities, ward-level health facilities, and other stakeholders to support program implementation and calendar adherence.
- Ensure proper utilization, documentation, and inventory tracking of all program equipment and supplies.
- Maintain accurate financial projections and monitor expenditures, ensuring timely financial reporting and adherence to OHW financial policies.
- Compile and verify lists of program logistics at both district and municipal levels, and ensure items are registered in the inventory books of the Health Office, respective municipalities, and designated health facilities before distribution.
- Follow up and monitor MNH service status and continuation of OHW-supported activities.
- Advocate with municipalities and district-level stakeholders for continued support and ownership of MNH interventions.
- Ensure alignment of plans with local priorities and promote resource allocation from government sources.
- Assist local governments in preparing evidence-based health plans and integrating MNH activities into annual budgets.
- Identify opportunities for additional partnerships and funding beyond OHW.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned to support the transition and continuity of program operations.
Technical
- Focus more on providing technical support to the Health Office, municipal authorities, health facilities, and program focal persons, with a strong focus on annual health reviews, capacity building in data management and analysis, results-based planning, budgeting, and the application of monitoring and evaluation principles in line with donor requirements and compliance standards.
- Lead the tracking of program performance against key indicators, ensure timely data entry into the online database, and identify areas requiring corrective actions to maintain program quality and effectiveness.
- Conduct frequent field visits to facilitate program implementation, support routine data collection, monitor progress, and follow up on action points.
- Proactively support both programmatic and administrative functions of OHW-supported interventions within the district.
- Contribute to updating, reviewing, and developing technical field visit tools and M&E instruments to adapt to changing field realities and improve communication systems at the district level.
- Coordinate the implementation of baseline assessments and program evaluations, while also conducting regular monitoring and supervision visits at district, municipal, and health facility levels.
- Promote evidence-based decision-making by encouraging the use of data for planning and linking program performance with measurable results.
- Support operational research initiatives and specialized studies within the district, including managing local research teams and data collection efforts when required.
- Assist in the preparation of timely progress reports, technical deliverables, presentations, and district- and municipality-level annual work plans.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports to ensure transparent reporting and accountability.
- Analyze MNH-related activities across municipalities, identify opportunities for strategic partnerships, and provide technical support upon request to strengthen MNH initiatives at the local level.

Job Specifications (minimum job requirements):
Academic qualification and work experience:
- Master’s degree in Public Health with one year of previous experiences in related field OR Bachelor’s degree in Public Health with three years of previous experiences in related field
Skills and abilities:
- Understanding of health care delivery systems in Federal context and activities at different levels specially the district level and below
- Ability to function as a self-starter with limited supervision.
- Knowledge and experience using MS-Office packages and statistical packages, email and internet.
- Can understated the presence of project in transition phase and work accordingly
- Excellent verbal and written communication including excellent written and spoken English.
- Ability to manage people, good inter-personal skills, and experience of working in a team.
- Good analytical skills, and experience with program oversight.
- Knowledge and experience in program management and data management.
- Practical experience in facilitation and negotiation skill with government counterpart/stakeholders at different levels.
