People Promote Center (PPC), Dhanusha is a nonprofit, non-government, and nonpolitical Humanitarian development organization of Madhesh Province. It is registered in Dhanusha and is affiliated with Social Welfare Council, Nepal. The core working themes of the organization are education, WASH, DRR, Health, governance and advocacy and gender issues. The organization's target groups include children, girls, adolescents, women, youth, and people with disability and other marginalized groups. The organization has been working with development organizations (I/NGOs), private sectors and local governments.  To implement its current project called  “Community Engagement and Social Mobilization for Modelling Social & Behaviour change and climate  action”, PPC is looking for qualified, dynamic and self-motivated Nepali citizens for the following positions.

Detailed Job Description

1. Program Officer – DRR, Emergency Preparedness & Social Behaviour Change

Location: - People Promote Center, Janakpurdham, Dhanusha, Madhesh Province, Nepal. 

Contract Type: Full-time (with field travel as required)

Duration: One year

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Environmental Science or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Experience:  Proven one year experience in project implementation, coordination, and monitoring. Familiarity with local government systems and DRR, emergency preparedness, community engagement, and/or climate change adaptation programming. Strong communication, facilitation, and report writing skills in both Nepali and English.

Purpose: The Program Officer is responsible for the effective planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of program activities at the provincial level. S/he will liaise with provincial governments, and stakeholders to ensure program objectives are met in line with organizational standards and donor requirements.

Responsibility

Program Planning and Coordination: Assist in planning and implementation of project activities as per approved project documents and work plans. Coordinate with field teams, government counterparts (LGs, MoEC, DED, ETC), and partner organizations. Ensure alignment of field activities with overall program objectives and timelines.

Monitoring, Reporting and Documentation: Monitor project activities regularly to assess progress, challenges, and results. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual program reports, success stories, and documentation. Maintain updated databases, records, and reports on program performance indicators. 

Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination: Represent the organization in district/provincial-level meetings, workshops, and events. Build and maintain strong working relationships with provincial government, local governments, schools, community groups, and other stakeholders. Facilitate capacity building and knowledge sharing sessions for partners and stakeholders.

Support: Organize and facilitate training, review meetings, and workshops. Support in budget tracking and financial reporting in coordination with the finance team.

Skills and competencies required: 

Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills. Proactive, result-oriented, and ability to manage multiple tasks. Skilled in MS Office applications and data management tools. Ability to work in multicultural, rural settings and travel frequently to the field. Understanding of gender, inclusion, and social equity principles.

Finance Associate

Location: - People Promote Center, Janakpurdham, Dhanusha, Madhesh Province, Nepal.

+2 in commerce with 2 years of experience in account and financial management and or a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, management with one year of experience.



This is a part-time position. The Finance Associate will work for 16 hrs per week.

Financial Management:

  • Assist in creating and maintaining project budgets [budget preparation]
  • Track project expenses meticulously [accounts payable]
  • Process invoices from vendors and contractors [accounts payable]
  • Manage project funds and ensure they are used appropriately [accounts payable]
  • Reconcile bank statements regularly to identify any discrepancies [bank reconciliation]

Reporting and Analysis

  • Generate financial reports like budget vs. actual to monitor project health [financial reporting]
  • Prepare financial forecasts to anticipate future needs [financial reporting]
  • Analyze financial data and identify areas for cost savings or optimization [financial analysis]
  • Communicate financial information clearly to project managers and stakeholders [financial reporting]
  • Prepare quarterly financial report in line with the standard quarterly report and submit to manager for further reporting to UNICEF Nepal.

Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed financial records for the project [record keeping]
  • Ensure adherence to all financial regulations and donor requirements [HACT/financial compliance]
  • Work with auditors during financial audits [financial audits]

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Stay updated on relevant financial policies and procedures.
  • Support in procurement management and staff administration

Other skills and competencies

  1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  2. Proficiency in accounting software
  3. Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office packages
  5. Effective communication and presentation skills including facilitation of training, workshop, and meetings.
  6. Fluency (reading and writing) in Nepali and English languages. Good understanding of local languages of Madhesh province (Maithili, Bhojpuri, Bajika etc.) will be an advantage.

Knowledge of procurement and office administration will be an advantage.

Selection Process:

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for written exam and an interview.  The selection process may also include a skills assessment or other relevant evaluations. In Case of Finance Associate Position, the candidate must obtain 65% Marks in written test to be qualified for interview.
