Monitoring and Evaluation(M&E) Officer

LIFE Nepal is a non-profit organization registered at the District Administration Office of Dhanusha in 2012 and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council in Kathmandu. We are a women- and youth-led organization based in Madhesh Province. Our aim is to ensure that the basic needs of people such as education, health, social protection, and livelihood are fulfilled, with a special focus on Children, Girls, Dalits, Muslims, Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities.

LIFE Nepal is looking for an M&E Officer to join our team. The M&E Officer will be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising meal services, ensuring standards are met, and coordinating with project teams for smooth implementation of activities.

1. Position: Monitoring and Evaluation(M&E) Officer

The M&E Officer is responsible for:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive M&E plan for the project, aligned with project requirements and organizational standards, in collaboration with the Project Team.
• Design IEC materials, develop and update require templates and tools for the project.
• Facilitation of Knowledge building and sharing of Monitoring, Reporting and Evaluation to project staff.
• Facilitate the baseline process of the project.
• Technical guidance to conduct research, baseline and endline information collection and analysis.
• Validate, verify and manage the data and information gathered from the field.
• Analyze data using quantitative and qualitative methods to assess project progress, track key indicators, and measure impact.
• Documentation of knowledge products and dissemination.
• Respect all policies of organization and funding agencies: Child Protection/Safeguarding, HR, Financial, GESI, PSEA and code of conduct.
• Perform the work as per rules and regulations of organization
• Conduct field visits to monitor project activities and joint monitoring with team.
• Stay updated on relevant M&E best practices and methodologies.

• Additional responsibilities as assigned by line manager.

Requirements for Meal Officer / Monitoring & Evaluation Role:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer application (BCA) will be preferred or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Monitoring & Evaluation, preferably in the development sector.
• Proven experience in working effectively across various teams within projects and organizations, and in building and sustaining positive relationships with stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, team building, management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and Nepali (both verbal and written); knowledge of Maithili and Bhojpuri are a plus.
• Demonstrated track record of project implementation.
• Strong understanding of project implementation strategies.
• Ability to provide guidance and expertise on monitoring and evaluation issues.
• Proficiency with software packages such as databases, Kobo Collect, MS Office, and SPSS.
