Introduction:
The Mess Cleaner is responsible to clean The BGN Combined Mess (rooms, mess toilets, corridors, staircase, bar area, tables, chairs and frames) daily.

This position is advertised at 40 hours per week in shift system (including weekends).
Job description:
- Maintaining cleanness of The BGN Combined Mess (Yatri Niwas & Kathmandu mess) on daily basis.
- Bedding and changing bed sheet of rooms as required and cleaning on daily/weekly basis.
- Assisting and coordinating with the Mess Waiter during the absence of Mess Manager.
- Polishing all the brass items which are in the mess.
- Checking the rooms’ amenities on daily basis.
- Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors on daily basis and stores on weekly basis.
- Dusting and wiping down surfaces like tables, chairs, shelves and countertops.
- Emptying trash bins and replacing liners.
- Cleaning restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors and restocking supplies toiletries liaising with Mess No 1 (supervisor).
- Disinfecting high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches etc.
- Any other task directed by the Mess Manager.

What you will be doing:
Responsibilities:
- Reporting any breakages, losses of room belongings to Mess manager / Mess No 1.
- Being available for the functions which occur in last hours to maintain the cleaning.
- Securing the mess property at the end of the day.
- Carry out other duties as directed by Mess Manager/Mess No 1/Waiters.
- Carry out any other tasks as directed by the Mess Manager.

You must have:
- Basic understanding of spoken instruction in English and Nepali language.
- Proven experience and training are essential for this role to deliver the job responsibility effectively and efficiently with good sense of customer service.
- Work experience and SLC/SEE education is essential.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques for different surface (wood, glass, stainless steel etc.)
- Understanding of chemical use and dilution (safe and effective usage)
- Knowledge of waste segregation and disposal methods to maintain hygiene and sanitation.
- Should have attention to detail checking corners, under furniture, high-touch surfaces and leaving no streaks on glass/furniture/mess properties.
- Discipline and Time management is the must where you should have the ability to follow a cleaning/duty schedule without reminder.
- You should have good knowledge of Health and Safety, First Aid and General knowledge of mess accommodation with ability to lift, bend and move for long hours and carry equipment safely.
- Teamwork and Adaptability - you should be able to work well in a team and adjust to changing routines or special events.
- You will be assessed on the list above to qualify for interviews during the sifting and selection process.
- Having a Hospitality Qualification is an advantage.

- Salary 47,885.00 NPR per month (Permanent).
- Gratuity after completing 3 years’ service.
