We are a non-profit organization that is committed to offering access and opportunities to media technology and different forms of art, so that girls & women can voice their own lives – in order to raise hidden and silenced issues in our communities. Our work focuses specifically on access to media, arts and technology for girls and women. We also run various campaigns which plays a role in contributing to cultural & social change in our communities. Telling one’s own story—claiming one’s voice—changes a person and a community in ways that support larger social change by building agency as well as both individual and collective power.

Details / requirements:

Voices of Women Media is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Finance Officer to take on a crucial role in upholding the financial well-being and integrity of the organization. This role entails overseeing financial transactions, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and actively contributing to the organization's financial health.

MAIN TASKS AS A FINANCE OFFICER

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing stakeholders, partners, and donors.
  • Prepare project’s annual cash flow plan based on work plan and related procurement plan
  • Providing required support to the project on overall financial management including planning and budgeting, accounting, internal controls, financial reporting, auditing, and funds flow management. Ensuring a proper management and disbursement of projects funds following sound accounting, budgeting, and financial control and audit procedures acceptable to the GoN. 
  • Ensuring that all project transactions are booked timely & accurately and preparation of all requests for payments.
  • Carrying out control and filing of all documents related to financial activities, invoices and other documents relating to project transactions.
  • Preparing various reports and documents covering accounting transactions for management review purpose
  • Audit documentation preparation and provide necessary support during the audit
  • Coordinating with tax authorities & bank officials as per the requirement
  • Finance Officer shall prepare necessary periodic reports for the activities undertaken.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's degree in business administration, finance, economics or in related field
  • 3 years plus experience in business development and NGOs
  • Good administrative and numerical skills associated with budgets and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated organizational awareness and understanding of knowledge management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
