Shanti Volunteer Association (SVA) is a non-governmental organization that is dedicated in providing educational support and emergency relief activities located at 277/15 Krishna Dhar Marg Maharajgunj, Ward 3, Kathmandu.
In effort to provide learning opportunities to all children, we are actively engaged in education development projects aiming to build a society in where people can "Live Together and Learn Together" in peace (Shanti), respecting human dignity and diversity.
To this intent, the organization is seeking an efficient, motivated and experienced Nepalese candidate to fill the position of Finance and Administration Assistant (short term period).
1. Position Title: Finance and Administration Assistant
Type: Part Time (9:00 AM – 12:30 PM)
Duty Station: Kathmandu
Contract Period: July 2025 to December 2025
Salary Range: NPR 17,000/-
Report to: Finance and Administration Coordinator
2. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial management and accounting
- Assist financial work by preparing and filing necessary documents (e.g. vouchers, forms, payment requests, and other supporting documents).
- Prepare payment request according to internal procedures of the organization.
- Process the staff insurance claims and forward the necessary documents to Insurance company.
- Visiting Banks, Tax Offices, CIT, Ward Office, necessary government organization and vendors as per requirement.
Administration management
- Keep proper record of stock register and fixed assets register with coding. Maintain the office facilities and equipment in good condition. Take care of necessary repair and maintenance. Handling procurement of goods and services for office (office consumption, stationery, toner, etc.)
- Providing logistic support: Airlines ticket, Vehicle Hire, Accommodation and other necessary support.
- Handle visitors and telephone calls. Assist external communication (e.g. sending invitations, distributing greetings cards).
- Support in proper recording and filing of official letters for future reference.
- Undertake any other official duties as assigned by the Finance and Admin Manager and Coordinator.
3. Education & Experience
Education: Completion of secondary level education
Experience: At least six months of experience in finance and admin related work
4. Essential Skills and Competences:
- Fluent in English and Nepali (written and spoken)
- Basic computer skill and proper knowledge of Microsoft package (MS-Word, Excel PowerPoint)
- Good communication and interpersonal skill
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of team
- Must be committed to follow all organization policies.
- Adhere to the organization’s Safeguarding Policy
- Have a valid driver’s license for two-wheeler vehicle and driving experience.
