The POSHAN/ MCW in Nepal will be implemented in Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, and Madhesh Provinces, targeting five districts with high rates of poverty, poor health and nutrition outcomes, and high rates of food and nutrition insecurity. The POSHAN/ MCW aims to improve the wellbeing of children and their mothers in targeted districts of Nepal. Activities aim to strengthen the health and nutrition system; improve care and feeding practices; provide nutrition education, enhance dietary diversity, increase household food security; promote food safety and hygiene; and women’s empowerment and leadership for decision making. The POSHAN project is implemented in partnership with iDE and MAP International.

1. Nutrition Manager based in Surkhet
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Nutrition Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring and providing technical backstopping to the project team and Government at all levels for Maternal and Child health Nutrition component of the POSHAN/MCW. The incumbent will closely work with thematic leads on health and WASH in CARE Nepal country office and manage the thematic specialists on Health, Food and Nutrition, Women and Girls equality and social impact, and WASH and SBCC based in Surkhet and other districts for effective implementation of program and technical excellence. The Nutrition Manager will be responsible for ensuring quality delivery of effective and innovative models and approaches for nutrition specific outcomes and link them with nutrition sensitive interventions for sustainability.

2. Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture and Livelihood Specialist (NSALS) based in Madhesh Province
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture and Livelihood Specialist (NSALS) will be responsible for planning, managing, and monitoring the implementation of Poshan project interventions that contribute to production and consumption of nutritious food, promoting of climate smart agriculture and nutrition sensitive agriculture, food and nutrition system strengthening and governance activities at province, district, and municipal level focusing on multi sectoral nutrition plan. The incumbent will work closely with the Nutrition Manager, Kathmandu based thematic leads (health, nutrition, water sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and women and girl’s empowerment to carrying out these responsibilities. The position is based in one of the districts of Madhesh Province.
