Human Rights Awareness Center (HURAC-Nepal) Rolpa is a non-profit making, non-partician and leading Nepali non-governmental organization (NGO) working in the areas of rural development, human rights and social justice, having strategic focus on protecting and promoting economic, social and cultural rights and right to development. Its major iterventions are towards pro-poor and pro people policies and practices through rural development (livelihood, education, protection, health and sanitation, forest, soil conservation, environment), advocacy, campaign, lobbying, networking, research and awareness raising for people's empowerment. Project Background
HURAC Nepal, in partnership with Plan International Nepal, is implementing the Safe and Enabling Environment for Adolescent Girls and Young Women (SAFE-Girls) Project. The project aims to empower adolescent girls and young women by enhancing their access to information, life skills, comprehensive sexuality education, and protective environments that enable them to make informed decisions related to their body, life, and future.
Position Details
Position Title: Field Officer
Duty Station: Paribartan Rural Municipality, Rolpa
Number of Positions: One (1)
Contract Duration
Fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability.
Position Summary
The Field Officer will be responsible for facilitating and implementing project activities at the community and school levels. The position requires close coordination with adolescents, schools, local governments, community stakeholders, and project teams to ensure quality implementation of project interventions and achievement of project objectives.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, or related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant field-level working experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates having prior experience in adolescent sexual and reproductive health, child protection, education, community mobilization, and coordination with local governments.
- Candidates from the local area and female candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
Main Responsibilities
Project Planning and Implementation
- Prepare and implement monthly, quarterly, and annual project work plans.
- Facilitate field-level trainings, meetings, orientations, and sessions for adolescent girls' groups and young women's groups formed in schools.
- Support adolescents through school-based groups and ensure timely and quality delivery of project interventions.
Coordination and Networking
- Coordinate with Child Protection, Education, and other sectoral staff working in respective wards and schools.
- Coordinate with schools to establish and implement Safe Space programmes.
- Coordinate with ward and palika-level stakeholders and maintain effective working relationships.
- Represent the organization at community level as required in consultation with supervisors.
- Conduct regular meetings and visits with teachers, health personnel, local government representatives, and other stakeholders.
Programme Monitoring and Support
- Monitor and manage Safe Space and AFIC programmes in schools and communities.
- Ensure child safeguarding standards are understood, practiced, and complied with.
- Submit monthly progress reports and other periodic reports to the supervisor and M&E Officer.
- Support implementation of child protection activities and other initiatives assigned by the organization.
Research, Assessment and Documentation
- Conduct community-level surveys, assessments, studies, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) as required by the project.
- Support the project team in organizing trainings, orientations, workshops, and meetings.
- Document lessons learned, challenges, and good practices from field implementation.
Policy Advocacy
- Influence and support local governments to review, formulate, and develop policy documents relevant to project objectives and thematic areas.
