Dalit Ethnic Upliftment Center (DEUC), Bara, is a women-led NGO working to uplift Dalit and marginalized communities through inclusive livelihoods, WASH, food security, and capacity-building initiatives. With financial support from Childaid Network, DEUC is implementing the project “Empowering Economic Opportunity of Marginalized Community of Baragadhi Rural Municipality”.

As part of this project, DEUC invites applications from qualified and experienced Agricultural Resource Persons to deliver 5-day Commercial Vegetable Farming Trainings targeting smallholder farmers in Baragadhi Rural Municipality, Bara.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare a session-wise curriculum and training plan.
• Deliver 5-day training sessions (70% practical, 30% theoretical) for 4 groups of 25 farmers each.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance on crop selection, off-season and climate-resilient production, IPM, soil fertility, irrigation methods, and post-harvest management.
• Support participants in developing individual farm plans.
• Submit brief technical reports with recommendations after each batch.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Technical certificate (JT/JTA) in Agriculture with at least 5 years of experience, OR Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Minimum 3 years of practical experience in vegetable farming extension or farmer training.
• Experience working with smallholder and Dalit farmers in Madhesh is highly valued.
• Strong knowledge of climate-resilient agriculture, IPM, and off-season vegetable production.
• Excellent facilitation and participatory training skills in Nepali and local languages (Bhojpuri).
