Strengthening Civil Society for Inclusive Democracy and Human Rights in Nepal and the Philippines (SAMA-SAMA) is a 3-year development project managed by the Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI), with the funding support from Global Affairs Canada (GAC). Forum for Protection of Public Interest (Pro Public), established in 1991, a national-level non-governmental organization working in the areas of democracy, good governance, inclusion, gender equality, social justice, and civic engagement, is a national thematic partner for the implementation of this project. The Project aims to strengthen civil society in Nepal to reinforce civic engagement and democratic participation among women and marginalized groups (WMGs).

Pro Public is seeking expression of interests from qualified, experienced, and motivated Nepali Resource Persons/Experts in order to create a roaster so as to engage them in various project-related assignments throughout the cycle of the project.

1. Resource Person/Expert – To develop IEC Materials

Task: Develop IEC materials (poster, flip-chat, leaflet and sticker) on promotion of the participation of WMGs in political decision-making processes at the local level focusing on human rights, GESI, positive masculinities, GBV in politics, and environmental rights

Location: Kathmandu, Nepal

Contract Type: Short-Term Consultancy Agreement

Duration: 6 days

Qualification & Experience: A minimum of a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with at least seven years of intensive and specific experience.

2. Resource Person/Expert – To develop Future Leaders and Executives Empowerment Training (FLEET) Guidelines and Training Manual

Task: Produce a FLEET training manual targeting women and youth from marginalized groups based on the results of the assessment (on GESI, GBV in politics, human and environmental rights, and civic engagement and participation in political processes)

Location: Kathmandu, Nepal

Contract Type: Short-Term Consultancy Agreement

Duration: 20 days

Qualification & Experience: A minimum of a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with at least seven years of intensive and specific experience.

3. Resource Person/Expert – To create online/multimedia elements for the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC)

Task: Create online/multimedia elements as MOOC for the already developed FLEET Guidelines and Training Manual. Content structuring and modularization (Total Animated video-15); interactive assessment design and integration

Duration: 60 days

4. Resource Person/Expert – To conduct desk review of current government policies, strategies and guidelines

Task: Conduct desk review of current government policies, strategies and guidelines on selection processes of electoral candidates and appointment with a GESI and human rights lens

Location: Kathmandu, Nepal

Duration: 10 days

5. Resource Person/Expert – To develop Contextualized Training Modules and Materials

Task: Design tailored capacity strengthening programs for women potential candidates and local women office-bearers from marginalized groups

Location: Kathmandu, Nepal

6. Resource Person/Expert – To develop Survey Tools

Task: Develop Survey Tools to conduct community-level participatory action research aimed at identifying key issues, barriers, and best practices to accessing information, planning processes, incentives, and services provided to WMGs.

7. Resource Person/Expert – To Facilitate Workshop and Develop advocacy toolkits and strategies for CSOs

Task: Support women-led and rights-based CSOs and their network to develop sharp advocacy strategies on transformational feminist leadership, equitable representation, and participation of WMGs and prevention of GBV toward Locally Elected Women Representatives (LEWR)

Location: Madhesh & Lumbini

Contract Type: Short-Term Consultancy Agreement

Duration: 8 days in each province

Qualification & Experience: A minimum of a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with at least seven years of intensive and specific experience.

Task: Conduct one day issue orientation workshop to 25 media personnel

Remuneration and Benefits:

Applicants are requested to specify their daily fee rate directly in the form.
