Introduction

With a vision of “a world where every child is safe, educated, loved”, Kopila Valley Sewa Samaj (KVSS) established in 2007, is a non-governmental, not for profit organization. Our mission is to change the world by empowering Nepal's children. We do this by providing quality education, a safe environment, and through inspiring others while putting the children first, strengthening families and local communities.

Most at-risk and disadvantaged children are provided with quality education at Kopila Valley School (KVS), one of the greenest schools in Nepal, made from the rammed earth and nestled on a campus with a commitment to building sustainable programs. Along with the lifelong gift of education to the disadvantaged children, we support their family members to improve their living standards and make it sustainable through holistic programs ranging from children’s home, health and wellness through women empowerment to career guidance/counseling, and scholarships for further studies. 

Kopila Valley Women’s Center opened its doors in 2013. Over the years, vocational programs have evolved to address women’s technical interests and the changing markets in Surkhet and has included instruction in sewing and tailoring, traditional weaving, beautician, doll and cushion, local handicraft and so on. The Women's Center has been able to reach out to more than 400 women through various skill-based training. Through these training, our graduates can leave harsh physical labor work to seek dignified careers, find higher paying jobs, and pursue new economic opportunities.

Kopila Valley Women’s Center is also one of the accredited institutions to provide Early Childhood Developmental Facilitator (ECDF) training_390 hrs. in Surkhet. The training will provide skills and knowledge necessary for “Montessori/ECD Facilitator” as a skilled worker. Hence, Kopila Valley Women’s Center is looking for a qualified ECDF trainer for the same. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Curating Space to the ECDF curriculum needs 
2. Training and Facilitation 
3. Field supervision and reporting 
4. Mentorship and Support

In close coordination with the Women’s Center lead and the Managing, the consultant will ensure the following deliverables:

1. Curating Space to the ECDF curriculum needs: 

• Review the existing set up and assist in listing the materials required for the effective completion of the training.
• Visit the site and assess the materials needed for the training including the set up for the lab and classroom.
• Prepare a list of training materials before the training to ensure the smooth training.

2. Training and Facilitation

• Conduct comprehensive training to the trainees which includes both theory and practical as per the curriculum, Early Childhood Development Facilitator, revised 2018 (CTEVT)
• Ensure smooth delivery and instruction where trainees find the learning space and pedagogy safe and have a learning environment. 
• Integrate the local context of the Surkhet in teaching/learning with the help of Kopila Valley School, ECV coordinator to make sure the learning for the trainees relevant to the context. 

3. Field Supervision and assessment

• Observation and assessment of the trainees in the classroom and necessary actions to motivate the trainees through positive reinforcement.
• Assessment of the trainees during the On-the-Job training and prepare a comprehensive report of the same. 
• Provide the assessment report of each trainee every month to report on the holistic progress of the trainees and request for support as per the need.

4. Mentorship and Support

• Provide mentorship to the trainees during the training and further to help them

The consultant will be responsible for safety and security procedures and abide by the policy/procedures of KVSS alongside the child protection code of conduct.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's pass in any stream
• Skill test level 1 passed
• Experience of providing at least 2-3 Montessori based trainings
• Excellent coaching, mentoring and communication skills

Timelines

The training will begin from the second week of August and will run through October 2025 as per need. The tentative total days will be 3 months of signing off the consultancy agreement. Nevertheless, the days will be subject to changes as per needs and negotiated by the consultant and the organization.

The deadline of submission for the mentioned consulting service is 10th August, 2025.
