Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities) Length of the contract: 3 Years
Main purpose of job:
- To manage delivery of the British Government’s Nepal Peacebuilding programme.
Roles and Responsibilities:
We are looking for an experienced programme manager to support the successful delivery of British Government’s Nepal Peacebuilding programme. The programme aims to:
- Support communities to collectively identify and resolve areas of local tension
- Facilitate dialogue between communities and political representatives
- Strengthen capacity of human rights and media organisations
- Strengthen local research capacity
You should be able to work well under pressure and confident in dealing with a range of internal and external partners. This job requires management of a complex portfolio of growing scale expected to meet highest standards of financial and programme management. You will need a can-do attitude and willingness to provide support across the team. We are looking for an individual with experience in programme management.
Delivery of Projects:
- Management of and reporting on (risks, value for money, budgets) projects through delivery plans and other reporting tools;
- Produce quarterly programme reports and briefings and other communications products as required;
- Provide quality assure on key deliverables from the projects;
- Liaison with Programme Advisor and escalate (appropriately) any issues, risks and challenges faced by the projects in a timely manner through appropriate channels;
- Track and report on the budgetary matters as a programme;
- Lead on development of M&E of programme both in-house (lead on programme results framework) and to liaise with external teams engaged to undertake M&E tasks;
- Coordinate and participate in relevant internal activities/meetings carried out by Embassy political and DFID Governance teams
Programme Coordination:
- Coordinate programme working group and manage the delivery plan including rigorous management of finances, risks, lessons learnt and best practices through cross HMG collaboration
- Input to papers for the management boards at Post (including working group, operational board, strategic board etc)
- Build and manage relationships with staff in implementing partner organisation/s;
- Lead on managing short term technical visits from London to provide scoping and evaluation feedback on programme;
- Provide support to the programme Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) in coordinating strategic direction and future funding;
- Manage procurement, knowledge management and communication requirements for the programme.
Essential qualifications and experience:
- Preferably 5 years of relevant programme management experience, ideally from UK Government programmes.
- IT proficiency
- Good written English skills (ability to provide briefings, project reporting).

For other than BHC candidates, salary will be NPR 126154 per month. Please note that the salary scales are under review and the salary is likely to be increased after the pay review is over.
