Request for Expression of Interest (EoI): ‘Study and support on Climate Change Adaptation and DiDRR in Madesh province Nepal’

About LIFE Nepal:

A local NGO registered in Dhanusha district Nepal in 2012 and affiliated with the social welfare council of Nepal. LIFE Nepal has 10 plus years plus experience in implementing programs focused on education, girls’ education and early marriage prevention, disaster risk reduction and community mobilization. Currently LIFE Nepal is working across all eight districts of Madesh province Nepal with funding from CBM Global Disability Inclusion, UNICEF and UNFPA in close collaboration with the community, key stakeholders, local governments, and the provincial government to deliver the projects.

Background of the assignment:

LIFE Nepal is implementing a project called “The Inclusive Climate Resilient Community Development Project in Nepal (IRDCN)” in partnership with CBM Global Disability Inclusion”. The project focused on people with disabilities and their families for their socio-economic empowerments, promote their participation and engagement with governments and other social structures and collaborate with local government for joint efforts. A total of 1,500 people with all types of impairments will be reached through the Community Based Inclusive Development (CBID) approach that promotes Disability Inclusive Development (DID). The project is being implementing in Janakpurdham sub-metropolitan city, Mithila Bihari municipality and Aaurahi Rural municipality of Dhanusha district, Madesh province Nepal.

The assignment is part of IRDCN project to enhance the capacity of local government and LIFE Nepal through training design and delivery, DRR and CCA plan revision, disaster simulation exercise, assessment and recommendation of appropriate early warning system, and study on understanding, awareness, and impacts of climate change to person with disabilities in a close consultation with CBMG, LIFE Nepal.
