VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Sonaha Bikash Samaj (SBS) is a non-governmental, nonprofit, civil society organization, initially set up as a small organization in 2011 by a group of Sonaha. It was officially registered in 2011 as Sonaha Bikash Samaj (SBS) in the District Administration office Bardiya and Social Welfare Council in 2068 B.S (2011 A.D.). With the passage of time, SBS has been able to expand itself into one of the recognizable organizations in Bardiya district and Nepal together with its diverse development programs covering the indigenous and poorest people through the integrated programs. SBS has been implementing Activities under the Integrated Community Development Project with the technical and financial support of Good Neighbors International (GNI-Nepal) since September 2016. Sonaha Bikash Samaj is working under the Integrated Community Development Project in 1 Rural Municipality and 2 municipalities of the Bardiya district named Geruwa Rural Municipality (previous Patabhar VDC, Gola VDC, Manau VDC) Madhuban Municipality (previous Sanoshree-Taratal Municipality) and Rajapur Municipality respectively.

Sonaha Bikash Samaj (SBS) is looking for the following positions:

1. Admin Finance Officer

Position: Admin Finance Officer (AFO)

Location: Sonaha Bikash Samaj, Bardiya

Contract Period: 1 year with possibilities of extension

Probation Period: 3 Months

Responsible to: Focal Person- Project

Responsible for: Administration and Finance Department

Scope of Work

The Admin and Finance Officer will be responsible for both financial and administrative works of the organization. The major financial duties and responsibilities of the AFO include accounting, software operation, reporting and documentation, cash flow/fund management, compliance. And, administrative duties and responsibilities are to conduct works related to general administration, assets management, coordination, procurement function, inventory management, etc.

Academic Qualification and Work Experience

• Bachelors level in management with specialization in accounting
• At least 5-year experience working in the sector of finance and administration in development and audit form
• Preference will be given to knowledge of using FAMAS accounting software.
• Ability to communicate in English, Nepali, and local languages; 
• Ability to work under strict deadlines;
• Should have two wheelers driving license;

2. Junior Technical Assistant (JTA) – Agriculture/Livestock

Position: Junior Technical Assistant (JTA) 

Location: Project Office – Sonaha Bikash Samaj, Bardiya

Duration of Contract: Fixed term till December 2023 (with possibility of extension)

Job Description 

The incumbent will be mainly focused on the following major duties and responsibilities.

Qualification and required skills

• Minimum Technical SLC or I.SC. AG-Agriculture/livestock with at least 3 years of experience;
• Experience of improving agriculture productivity and profitability of small farm production;
• Experience in working with cooperatives and farmer’s groups;
• Should have community mobilization and communication skills;
• Ability to communicate in English, Nepali, and local languages;
• Ability to work under strict deadlines;
• Should have two wheelers driving license;
