Our initiatives span essential health services—including HIV and nutrition—procurement and supply chain management for life-saving drugs, global health security, rapid detection and response to health emergencies, and air quality management.

1. Strategic Information (SI) Specialist – DHIS2 support

The SI Specialist – DHIS2 Support is responsible for strengthening the SI system of the United States Department of State and the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)-funded EpiC Nepal by providing technical support for the effective management of the District Health Information System (DHIS2)-based One National HIV Information System (ONHIS) managed by the National Center for AIDS and STD Control (NCASC), Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) of Nepal, as well as the Mero Data platform of FHI 360 Nepal. This role involves supporting EpiC Nepal’s SI Unit in monitoring project activities, facilitating data collection, preparing datasets, conducting analysis, and generating reports. The specialist will ensure the smooth functioning of DHIS2 systems in close collaboration with NCASC and other HIV stakeholders, while also building the capacity of implementing partners to effectively utilize the DHIS2 platform.

Key responsibilities

  • Customize and configure the DHIS2 system based on user feedback and reporting requirements; monitor feedback and error logs; and maintain robust software version control.
  • Administer and maintain the DHIS2 Tracker, ensuring optimal performance, regular backups, and strong data security measures.
  • Provide technical support and manage data-related tasks, including record deletion, data quality checks, and report generation.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to safeguard data confidentiality and security and ensure compliance by implementing partners.
  • Support the SI unit in delivering trainings, mentorship, technical assistance, and other capacity-building activities for supported facilities and implementing partners, ensuring the availability of high-quality, timely data for reporting and decision-making.
  • Design and standardize procedures for programming, data documentation, entry, analysis, and visualization relevant to program data systems.
  • Contribute to proposal development by drafting technical data-related sections, and assist in preparing abstracts, success stories, manuscripts, and work plans.
  • Assist in developing and updating data management protocols, participate in reviews, and contribute to activity scheduling and implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in DHIS2 customization, implementation, and management within project settings, particularly in HIV program preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing web and mobile applications using Java and related technologies.
  • Proficient in client/server and multi-platform application development, with strong skills in JavaScript, Angular, HTML5, CSS, and XML.
  • Familiar with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau, and data analysis tools such as R Studio and Python.
  • Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, work effectively in virtual environments, and collaborate across different time zones.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with proven experience in team building and management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Nepali, including technical documentation expertise.
  • Others relevant tasks assigned by supervisor and the Country Director.

2. Information Technology (IT) Officer

The IT Officer will be responsible for maintaining the Nepal Office IT systems, including oversight of computers, servers, email, and networking infrastructure, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operations. The IT Officer will also be responsible for coordinating with FHI 360 Nepal Office IT, the Asia Pacific Regional Hub, the headquarters (HQ)’ Digital Transformation and Technology (DTT) team, and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to implement necessary software updates and communication system upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide user support for issues related to emails, FHI 360 standard programs/applications, printing, network connectivity, file management, data recovery, and installation of standard applications.
  • Monitor and maintain all computers and printers to ensure smooth operation, including hardware/software troubleshooting, local area network management, email configuration, and device setup.
  • Manage user accounts, including creating, resetting, unlocking, and disabling accounts as needed.
  • Ensure weekly updates of antivirus software on servers and workstations.
  • Perform regular backups of servers, user files, and shared network files according to the established schedule.
  • Maintain and periodically upgrade the Nepal Office IT system, as required or instructed by HQ and Asia Pacific Regional Hub.
  • Assist regional and HQ DTT teams in testing and deploying emerging technologies.
  • Coordinate and follow up with international IT support teams as necessary.
  • Provide regular IT status updates to leadership teams at FHI 360 Nepal Office, regional and, and HQ DTT teams.
  • Ensure compliance by installing only FHI 360 licensed software on office computers to prevent security and operational issues.
  • Adhere to all FHI 360 DTT and funder IT compliance requirements.
  • Monitor internet connectivity and liaise with ISPs to resolve issues promptly.
  • Configure computers and set up printing and network services for consultants and visitors as required.
  • Advise staff on IT security measures and ensure timely application of security patches and virus protection updates.
  • Recommend and coordinate security enhancements and system upgrades with Asia Pacific Regional Hub DTT team.
  • Assist staff with file and email archiving and management on a regular basis.
  • Manage the Office Intranet and electronic filing system, including updating content and uploading FHI 360 documents as needed.
  • Support staff with document layout, design, printing, and production for FHI 360 materials.
  • Perform other relevant tasks assigned by supervisor and the Country Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor level education required, qualification in MCP, MCSE, CCNA. At least 5 years’ experience in IT Field or Master level with 3 years’ experience in IT Field.
  • Proactive in managing multiple tasks, managing, and working in virtual work environment, and flexible and open for managing time for working with different teams in different time zones as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, team building and management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Windows Server (2003/2008), MS Exchange 5.5, Windows 7 Professional/Enterprise, MS Office 2010/2013, and Office 365.
  • Skilled in VERITAS Backup, VMware, Cisco Router/Switch configuration, IT security, and cloud-based technologies.
  • Familiar with graphic design tools such as Photoshop, PageMaker, and FreeHand.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Passionate, optimistic, and self-motivated with a strong drive to deliver results.
  • Good verbal and written English and Nepali including documentation skills.

3. Program Manager (Anticipated)

The Program Manager provide overall leadership for the anticipated Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO)-funded “Clean Air for Mothers and Newborns in Nepal” initiative. S/he will be responsible for translating the project’s vision, strategy, and technical direction into actionable plans, ensuring high-quality implementation across health system, household/community, and policy levels. The Program Manager will serve as the primary operational lead for grant delivery, overseeing work planning, partner coordination, compliance, monitoring, and reporting.

This role requires close collaboration with local, provincial, and federal stakeholders civil society, and health facilities to reduce air pollution exposure among pregnant women and newborns, strengthen local health systems, and advance policy reforms. This position is a core position for anticipated project, contingent upon funding availability and funder approval.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of annual and quarterly work plans, ensuring alignment with the programme’s theory of change, FCDO and management agent requirements, and FHI 360 standards.
  • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of outputs and outcomes across the three program domains: health systems, households/communities, and policy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal/provincial governments, stakeholders, health facilities, and community leaders.
  • Represent the programme in policy dialogues, technical working groups, and review meetings and other platforms of the local, provincial, and federal levels.
  • Ensure interventions are contextually relevant and inclusive.
  • Provide strategic oversight to the local implementing partner on various aspects of program implementation while ensuring compliance with subaward terms and FHI 360 policies.
  • Facilitate partner capacity building in technical delivery, compliance, and reporting.
  • Manage implementing partner and Lead routine performance review meetings with partners to assess progress, address bottlenecks, and adapt strategies.
  • Provide guidance to the partner to document and disseminate lessons learned, good practices, and success stories.
  • Identify and mitigate program risks.
  • Liaison with fund management agency and the FCDO in relation to programmatic and operational requirements of the programme.
  • Support the Country Director in donor reporting and strategic communications.
  • Represent the program in external events and forums as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and the Country Director.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or international equivalent in Public Health, Environmental Health, Development Studies, Management, or related field.
  • Five to seven years of progressive experience managing complex, multi-sector programs, preferably in health systems strengthening, environmental health, or air quality management.
  • Proven experience in policy advocacy, community engagement, and behaviour change communication.
  • Strong understanding of Nepal’s federal governance and local government structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage subawards, budgets, and compliance for donor-funded programs including relationship management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and adaptive leadership abilities.
  • Ability to travel to intervention municipalities up to 30% of the time.
