Details / requirements:
We seek qualified, motivated, and committed professionals for the following positions across 3 provinces, 5 districts namely Kailali, Bardiya, Banke , Sunsari and Jhapa. Candidates must demonstrate strong commitment to gender equality, inclusion, safeguarding, and coordination with government entities (DHM, NDRRMA, provincial/district/local DMCs/EOCs).
1. Project Coordinator (2 Positions – Regional Leads: AA/DRRM & SP/DRRM)
Qualification: Master’s degree in Disaster Risk Reduction/Management, Engineering, Social Policy, Public Administration, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 7 years in DRRM, social protection, coordination, and training.
Key Skills:
- Proven leadership in regional AA implementation, including hydromet-trigger development, SIMEX facilitation, PMT/SSA integration, CFM strengthening, community sensitization, and multi-agency coordination (DHM/OHM, NDRRMA, Province/District/Local DMC/EOC).
- Strong skills in planning, quality assurance, scheduling, reporting, risk management, stakeholder facilitation, and results-based management across basins/palikas.
2. District Officer (2 Positions – Hydrologist/Meteorologist)
Qualification: Master’s degree in Hydrology, Meteorology, or related field.
Experience: 3–5+ years in forecasting, verification, and risk analysis.
Key Skills:
- Basin-level technical expertise in triggers, thresholds, flood modelling; translating DHM forecasts into DSS inputs and actionable guidance.
- Advising on SIMEX design, quality-checking hydromet data, documenting lessons for trigger refinement.
- Competency with GIS/model outputs; strong liaison with DHM and local counterparts.
3. District Officer (2 Positions – Social Protection)
Qualification: Master’s degree in Social Policy, Statistics, IT, Computer Science, Economics, or related field. Experience: 3–5+ years in social protection operations, registries, and data governance.
Key Skills:
- Leading PMT integration with VERIMS/DIMS/SSA; standardizing forms, consent, verification workflows; cleaning targeting datasets and securing LG endorsements.
- Training municipal teams on SRSP procedures, grievance routing, and data protection.
- Strong analytics, documentation, and coordination skills.
4. District Officer (1 Position – Legal / AAP / CFM)
Qualification: Master’s degree in Law, Governance, DRR, Public Administration, or Social Sciences.
Experience: 3–5+ years in policy drafting, grievance systems, and intergovernmental coordination.
Key Skills:
- Anchoring governance updates to AAP/SOP/LDMF; ensuring legal coherence with national AA frameworks.
- Strengthening CFM workflows, safeguarding; coordinating SIMEX logistics and compliance.
- Facilitating LAO/MoUs, role clarity across tiers; strong writing, facilitation, and protection mainstreaming.
5. Palika Officer (1 Position – Hydrologist, complementing District Hydrologist/Meteorologist)
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, or Water Resources Engineering.
Experience: 1–2+ years in flood analysis and field verification.
Key Skills:
- Validating local flood triggers; contributing hydraulic/hydrologic inputs for risk maps, evacuation planning, SIMEX scenarios.
- Supporting ward-level monitoring; translating modelling into community actions.
- Basic GIS proficiency; community engagement; collaboration with WDMC/LDMC and district/provincial hydromet officers.
6. Palika Officer (1 Position – Meteorologist, complementing District Hydrologist/Meteorologist)
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric Science, Physics, or Meteorology.
Experience: 1–2+ years in forecast communication or EWS operations.
Key Skills:
- Interpreting forecasts for communities; supporting early-warning messaging; co-delivering AA curriculum with schools/LG teams.
- Assisting with nowcasts, rainfall alerts, message localization.
- Clear public-facing communication; coordination with DHM focal points and LEOCs.
7. Palika Officer (3 Positions – GIS/Geomatics)
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Geo-information, or related field.
Experience: 1–2+ years in GIS, mobile data collection, and QA/QC.
Key Skills:
- Producing ward-level risk/targeting maps, evacuation routes; ensuring privacy-aware datasets for LG endorsement.
- Supporting post-event mapping and SIMEX visualization.
- Proficiency with GPS, field apps, basic cartography; integration with SP/PMT and hydromet teams.
8. Palika Officer (2 Positions – Social Protection / PMT)
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Social Policy, Statistics, IT, or related field.
Experience: 1–2+ years in registry operations and targeting.
Key Skills:
- Executing PMT rollout, SSA updates, consent/verification; preparing beneficiary lists for WDMC/LDMC/DDMC endorsements.
- Supporting grievance routing; ensuring SRSP compliance and timely submissions to WFP/LGs.
- Strong data handling, documentation, facilitation.
9. Palika Officer (2 Positions – CFM / Community Engagement)
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Communications, DRM, or related field.
Experience: 1–2+ years in community engagement and accountability systems.
Key Skills:
- Operationalizing CFM helpdesks, hotline linkages, inclusive feedback loops; logging/routing/tracking cases.
- Supporting protection/GBV messaging, AA awareness; facilitating meetings, school sessions, post-distribution feedback.
- Strong interpersonal, safeguarding, documentation skills.
10. Palika Officer (2 Positions – Civil/Environmental Engineer)
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
Experience: 1–2+ years in small-scale infrastructure and QA.
Key Skills:
- Supporting Cash-for-Work design, BOQs, site supervision, DRR/OSH compliance.
- Vetting micro-mitigation works for safety/environmental standards; contributing to quick-deployment life-saving structures.
- Practical DRR knowledge; coordination with LG engineers and district officers.
11. Palika Officer (3 Positions – Education / DRR Curriculum Practitioner)
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, DRM, or related field.
Experience: 1–2+ years in facilitation and curriculum delivery.
Key Skills:
- Delivering community- and school-based AA/DRR modules; coaching teachers, SMC/PTA.
- Integrating household SOPs, evacuation literacy, inclusive EWS messaging.
- Tracking attendance/learning evidence for SIMEX/AA; strong local-language communication and reporting.
12. Finance/Admin Officer (2 Positions)
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Management, or related field.
Experience: 2–3 years in financial operations and project administration.
Key Skills:
- Managing project finance, documentation, procurement, administrative systems.
- Ensuring compliance and timely reporting.
13. Social Mobilizers (As Needed)
Qualification: Higher Secondary Education (10+2 or equivalent).
Experience: Prior experience in DRR outreach, mobilization, local stakeholder coordination.
Key Skills: Field activation, early warning dissemination, community engagement during readiness/action phases.
14. Enumerators / Field Mobilizers (As Needed)
Qualification: SEE-level education (SLC/equivalent).
Experience: Prior experience in field surveys or community data collection.
Key Skills: Beneficiary registration, verification, mobile data collection; digital literacy; crowd management during activation.
