Project: Accessing Education to Child Laborers in Domestic and Commercial Sector in Nepal (ACCESS) Project

Implementing Organization: Child Nepal

Funding: Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR)

Child Nepal, in collaboration with the OHCHR/UNVTF, is implementing the “Accessing Education to Child Laborers in Domestic and Commercial Sector in Nepal (ACCESS)” project. The project aims to improve access to education, psychosocial support, and protection services for child laborers in domestic and commercial sectors in Budanilkantha Municipality, Kathmandu. Child Nepal invites applications from qualified, committed, and motivated Nepali citizens for the following full-time positions:

1. Program Coordinator 

Duty Station: Kathmandu (with field visits)

Duration: January 2026 – December 2026 (with possibility of extension)

Reports to: Executive Director

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership and coordination of the ACCESS Project.
  • Ensure effective and timely project implementation in line with project objectives and donor requirements.
  • Coordinate with OHCHR, local governments, schools, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead project planning, monitoring, reporting, and documentation.
  • Supervise project staff and support capacity-building activities.
  • Ensure child protection, safeguarding, gender equality, and inclusion principles are integrated into project activities.
  • Represent Child Nepal in coordination meetings and relevant forums.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, Development Studies, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in child rights, education, or child labor–related projects.
  • Experience working with UN agencies or international organizations is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and report-writing skills.
  • Fluency in English and Nepali (written and spoken).

2. Accountant 

Duty Station: Kathmandu

Duration: January 2026 – December 2026 

Reports to: Program Coordinator / Finance Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records for the ACCESS Project.
  • Prepare vouchers, ledgers, bank reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor financial guidelines.
  • Support timely preparation of financial reports for OHCHR.
  • Assist with audits and financial reviews.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Intermediate level or Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting for NGO/INGO projects.
  • Knowledge of donor-funded project financial management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

3. Psychosocial Counselor (Full-Time)

Duty Station: Kathmandu

Duration: January 2026 – December 2026

Reports to: Program Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychosocial counseling and emotional support to child laborers and their families.
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for children.
  • Identify children requiring specialized mental health services and facilitate referrals.
  • Support awareness activities related to child protection, mental wellbeing, and education.
  • Maintain confidential case records and reports.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in psychosocial support, preferably with children.
  • Training in child protection, trauma-informed care, or counseling is an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Social Mobilizer 

Duty Station: Kathmandu

Duration: January 2026 – December 2026 

Reports to: Program Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mobilize communities, parents, and children to promote access to education.
  • Support identification, enrollment, and follow-up of child laborers.
  • Coordinate with schools, community leaders, and local stakeholders.
  • Conduct awareness and advocacy activities on child labor and education.
  • Support data collection and reporting at the community level.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Intermediate or Bachelor’s level education in Social Work, Education, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in community mobilization or social development work.
  • Familiarity with child labor and education-related interventions.
  • Willingness to work extensively in the field.
