Nepal National Social Welfare Association (NNSWA) established itself in 1990. In 1994, NNSWA registered with the District Administration Office Kanchanpur and affiliated to Social Welfare Council Kathmandu. NNSWA has grown over the years, implementing various integrated community based development programs in Far Western Region being one of the leading development organizations in the Sudur Paschim Province of Nepal. NNSWA has 107 General Members who constitute the General Assembly of NNSWA. 11 members of this General Assembly constitute an Executive Committee. Executive Members are elected by the General assembly for a term of 5 years. The Executive Committee has 6 Office Bearers (President, Vice-president, General Secretary, Secretary, Treasurer and Vice-treasurer) and 5 Executive Members. 40% of General Assembly and Executive Committee members are female. NNSWA has its district chapters at Dadeldhura, Baitadi and Darchula districts and other district NNSWA helping committee are existed and providing services in all 9 districts within the Sudur Paschim Province, Nepal. The Executive Committee is the legally constituted body responsible for providing strategic and policy direction to the organization. NNSWA has its own office building having sufficient rooms and training hall at Bheemdatt Municipality-18 in Kanchanpur district.

NNSWA has been actively working with various community development projects in Sudurpaschim Province of Nepal for more than three and half decades. It has significant years of experience working in the sector of Education, Health, Livelihoods, HIV and AIDS, Nutrition, DRRM/CCA and humanitarian response, Physical Rehabilitation Services for the People with Disability along, Stop Leprosy with other development sectors and has been closely working with different funding partners and all levels of the government. NNSWA is going to implement Integrated Program Framework (IPF), in Kanchanpur District in partnership with World Vision International Nepal. Therefore, NNSWA announces the vacancy for applying for the following positions.
1. Position: Education Officer
Required No.: (1) One
Base Station: Kanchanpur Project Office
1.1 GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will work within a framework established by the project implementing the Unlock Literacy project model and other education related interventions to advance learning outcomes among the children in APs across the project cycle. This position will ensure the quality implementation of the program by adhering to the project compliances, quality standards and the government’s policies and norms as well as providing technical guidance/coaching support to the early grade teachers, reading camp facilitators and NCG sessions facilitators. Technically, the position will be accountable to conduct classroom observation and feedback sessions to the early grade teachers to ensure that teaching and learning happens as per the guidance of Unlock Literacy (UL) project model.
1.2 Required Qualifications and Experience:
a. Academic Qualification:
- At least a bachelor's degree in education or related discipline with at least three (3) years' proven working experience.
b. Experience:
- Strong understanding of the policies, plans, system, process, of school education of Nepal.
- Demonstrated experience in capacity building of teachers, social mobilizers and volunteers
- Knowledge in project management.
- Experience working with diverse community groups and children including community orientations and training facilitation.
c. Sector Knowledge, Skills & Competency:
- Experience working in Early Grade Reading Program (an additional advantage)
- Experience in teaching (an additional advantage)
- Monthly budget forecast and planning, quarterly expense tracking and review of expenses.
- Good report writing skills for semi-annual and annual reports
- Sound skills in capacity assessment/training need assessment process and tools for staff and target group and project staff mentoring and onsite support
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications
- Competency in well documentation and reporting
2. Position: Nutrition Officer

Base Station: Kanchanpur Project Office
2.1 GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will assist volunteers and social mobilizers to improve nutritional status of under five children and mothers, support to deliver key nutrition messages, hygiene and sanitation including creating healthy habits among children and families in the communities. This will involve guiding the health mother groups, producer groups, water user groups and other community groups to become cohesive, exercise strong governance, generate a mission, vision and strategy and develop practical action plans for nutritional improvement particularly for under five children. The purpose of this position is to lead nutrition programming, capacity building and coordination across project teams.
2.2 Required qualifications and experiences
a. Academic Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health (BPH) or Community Nursing or Nutrition Science or related subject with at least three (3) years of working experience in health/nutrition project management, preferably having worked in close coordination with government institutions like local government, health facility or health Office etc.
b. Experience:
- Strong understanding of maternal, child health and nutrition (Infant and Young Child Feeding practices (IYCF), Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM), Multi sector Nutrition Plan (MSNP), Nutrition Friendly Local Governance and 16th Periodic Plan.
- Knowledge of existing Government policies, strategies and training packages particularly CNSI, Family MUAC, IYCF, GMP and IMAM.
c. Sector Knowledge, Skills & Competency:
- Sound knowledge on behavior changes communication approaches, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) approach
- Good understanding of operation issues like timely delivery of services, good planning and monitoring skills.
- Skills to analyze project related data and incorporate in the report
- Sound knowledge of supply chain management
- Monthly budget forecast and planning, quarterly expense tracking and review of expenses.
- Good report writing skills for semi-annual and annual reports
- Sound skills in capacity assessment/training need assessment process and tools for staffs and target group
- Skills on project staff mentoring and onsite support
- Ability to build capacity for the staff
- Project database (such as near real time monitoring, PD Hearth, beneficiary tracking) establishment and interpretation skills

3. Position: Psychosocial Counselling Officer

Base Station: Kanchanpur Project Office
3.1 GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will work within an Integrated Program Framework (IPF) to ensure mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) under child protection standards in area programs under PROTECT project model including Child Protection (CP) Core. The position will ensure technical guidance and assurance of psychosocial support components in IPF implementation. In addition, the position will provide psychosocial counselling sessions and support to vulnerable children, groups and families to prevent and respond to CP risks. The position will assist project lead and Protection Officer in proper CP case management. The position requires innovative and problem-solving skills to respond to multiple MHPSS needs and vulnerability to address holistic CP risks to produce sustainable changes for the overall well-being of most vulnerable children and families. The position further requires delivering basic MHPSS-related capacity building events for project teams and for external stakeholders.
3.2 Required qualifications and experience:
a. Academic Qualification:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in related field. 6 months training on psychosocial counselling (face-to-face is preferred).
b. Experience:
- Demonstrated experience MHPSS related activities with minimum two (2) years' experience in delivering psychosocial counselling to children and women.
- Strong understanding of psychosocial counselling support, its' principles and standards.
- Strong understanding of child protection, survivor-centered approach, CP-related laws, policies and mechanisms.
c. Sector Knowledge, Skills & competency:
- Able to travel field frequently and operate MHPSS clinic.
- Have ability to manage cases.
- Ability to facilitate MHPSS capacity building events
- Monthly budget forecast and planning, quarterly expense tracking and review of expenses.
- Good report writing skills for semi-annual and annual reports
- Sound skills in capacity assessment/training need assessment process and tools for staff and target group and project staff mentoring and onsite support
